President Donald Trump spoke to hundreds of pro-life advocates at a national Gala tonight sponsored by the Susan B Anthony List. He talked about the pro-life accomplishments during his administration and promised to continue putting pro-life values first and foremost during his tenure as president.

“For the first time since Roe v. Wade, America has a pro-life president, a pro-life vice president, a pro-life House and 25 pro-life state capitals,” Trump explained. “I’ve kept my promise to stand for life. When I ran for office, I pledged to stand for life. That’s exactly what I’ve done.”

President Trump talked about the decision he made during his first week in office to sign a measure defunding the International Planned Parenthood abortion business and restoring the Mexico City Policy that prohibits taxpayer funding of groups that promote and perform abortions in other countries. He also talked about his recent decision to defund Planned Parenthood ofits $60 million it receives via Title X family planning.

“So today, we have kept another promise. My administration has proposed a new rule to prohibit Title X funding from going to any clinic that provides abortions,” he said.

Trump discussed the legislation Congress approved that he signed that protected the religious freedoms and conscience rights of pro-life Americans and pro-life businesses and organizations that do not want to be forced to pay for drugs that may cause abortion.

And he encouraged pro-life Advocates to fight for additional pro-life lawmakers in the House and Senate to pass a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. He condemned the fact that the United States is apart of seven other nations that did not ban late-term abortions on babies after viability.

“Democratic Senators  … voted against the 20 week bill and in favor of late-term abortion. Gotta get out and vote. We’re 9 votes away from passing it,” he said. “The United States is one of only 7 countries in the world to allow elective abortion after 20 weeks, when unborn babies can truly feel the pain

“We must elect more lawmakers who proudly stand for life,” he said. “Can you imagine Nancy Pelosi as the Speaker of the House?”

Trump closed with a push for more adoptions.

“We celebrate all lives. We celebrate the loving choice of adoption. Every life is sacred and every child is a precious gift from God,” he said.
