It is a parent’s worst nightmare.

Generally, every parent loves their child and wants the best for their little boy or girl. They would do anything to prevent harm from coming to their children. And if their child was about to die many parents would be willing to risk their own lives to save their son or daughter. To be prevented from doing so would be a nightmare.

So the agony that Tom Evans is feeling that’s nothing short of heartbreaking. He just learned today that a European Court, the final legal stop for him and his battle to protect his son, is sentencing him to die. The court is allowing a British hospital to effectively kill his little boy simply because it disagrees about whether or not he has a good quality of life. The hospital has been allowed to terminate little Alfie Evans life support instead of allowing Tom to take his son to another hospital for appropriate care and treatment.

Shortly after the decision, Tom took to Facebook with a heart-wrenching post.

Tom claimed that his son was “about to be murdered” and had been “failed”.

“Failed disgracefully by the system. Does our son look in any of these pictures like he is dying!!!!! None of these are seizure or reflexes he is clearly there alive,” Evans says.

“Our son is about to he murdered, taken away from us, his innocent life is about to be taken. Please our Queen, Pope Francis, please Angela Merkel, someone save or innocent not dying son. We are in bits, distraught, in pain,” he concludes. “He looks into our eyes everyday. He responds to us everyday. Alfie James Evans, we love you so, so, so much. We will do everything we can.”
