People often derive their worldview and news information from television celebrities. That is why celebrities have a unique opportunity to use their platform to impact millions of Americans.

Perhaps “Top Chef” judges Tom Colicchio, Gail Simmons, Graham Elliot and Jonathan Waxman understood that when they proudly wore Planned Parenthood pins on the cooking show for 3.02 million viewers to see. Each of the judges is a high profile, celebrity chef with restaurants in major cities, best-selling cookbooks or regular appearances on TV.

“I’ve been supporting @PPFA for a long, long time and want to thank @BravoTopChef for letting me showcase them tonight. #PlannedParenthood #TopChefshow host Padma Lakshmi tweeted on March 8.

The abortion giant supported the chefs wholeheartedly on its Twitter account. Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards tweeted, “Your support is always appreciated.”

This sparked a flurry of responses on Twitter; some favorable, and others disapproving.

One tweeter responded, “Thank you for using your platform – on Twitter and on @BravoTopChef – to support @PPFA! Happy #InternationalWomensDay!”

Others were annoyed at the integration of politics and television. Pete Witte posted this comment: “Why does politics have to invade everything? … Come on just stick with food. … can’t we relax?”

Padma Lakshmi replied: “No @petewitte we can’t relax. We need food for survival, we also need privacy to deal with our own bodies as we see fit.”

There were some more informational dissenting voices as well.

Chris Greene responded to Lakshmi: “I find it odd that you so willingly support an organization whose founder would have wanted you exterminated. Guess it’s just easier for some people to look the other way on some things.”

Greene is correct. Not only did Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger explicitly state her eugenicist goals for Planned Parenthood, including her desire to “exterminate the Negro population,” but Planned Parenthood is fulfilling her dream, disproportionately aborting minority babies and unborn baby girls.

Another Twitter user eloquently posted: “Padma, when you were pregnant on the show several years ago, why did I never ONCE hear you refer to your baby as anything other than a BABY? It’s ONLY a nothing-blob when you DON’T WANT IT. What’s even more sickening, YOU ALL KNOW IT! He/she is IN your body-not IS your body!”

Within the first trimester, an unborn baby has a functioning brain, a beating heart, reproductive organs, and, according to several experts, the ability to feel pain.

Yet another post read, “Please study facts. Supporting @PPFA would prevent more abortions by providing better gynecological care and sex education.”

But this is wrong. Planned Parenthood’s non-abortion services have actually been decreasing, according to its own annual reports.

These celebrity chefs are using their platform to promote their agenda. Thankfully, they are not in a one-sided fight. Jessica McCain, former MTV star and chef, used her platform in 2017 to defend life, LifeNews previously reported. These were her messages: “For those who say aborting a baby isn’t ending a life…tell that to a woman who has lost her baby to miscarriage,” “pregnancy isn’t a sickness, abortion isn’t a cure.”
