Nancy Pelosi Quotes “Welcome the Children” Bible Verse But Supports Killing Children in Abortions

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi criticized politicians for not welcoming vulnerable immigrant children Wednesday, though she herself supports the destruction of millions of unborn babies’ lives through abortion.

PJ Media reports Pelosi’s hypocrisy came through loud and clear during her 8-hour speech on immigration and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

The California Democrat has come under fire many times for claiming to be Catholic and a supporter of children while staunchly defending abortion on demand up until birth.

In her speech Wednesday, Pelosi made references to the Bible and Catholic church teachings about children to defend her position on immigration.

Here’s more from the report:

“The Catholic Church has long watched with pride and admiration as DACA youth live out their daily lives with hope and determination to flourish and contribute to society,” Pelosi declared. She quoted a statement from Catholic bishops who referenced Mark 9:37, a passage about welcoming children.

“The bishops go on to say, ‘The church has recognized and proclaimed the need to welcome young people. Whoever welcomes one of these children in my name welcomes me. And whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me. Mark 9:37.’ That’s so beautiful, because what they are saying is, when you reject these newcomers, you are rejecting those who sent them,” the congresswoman said.

At another point, she quoted Mathew 25:31-46 where Jesus told his followers that who ever helps “the least of these brothers and sisters of mine” is helping God. She also referred to the parable of the Good Samaritan.

This hypocrisy is nothing new. Last summer, Pelosi criticized pro-life Republicans for not honoring God by working to defund the abortion chain Planned Parenthood and repeal and replace Obamacare.

“I know my colleagues are people of faith,” Pelosi said. “They tell us that all the time. So, this is God’s creation, we have a real responsibility to it…to minister to the needs of God’s creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us…”

One week earlier, a reporter confronted Pelosi about the contradiction between her stance on abortion and her faith, and the U.S. House leader dodged the question. When the CNS News reporter asked Pelosi if aborting an unborn baby with a beating heart dishonors God, Pelosi appeared flustered and then gave a non-answer.

To many religious Americans, including many Democrats, unborn babies are part of “God’s creation” and deserve protection – but not to Pelosi. In 2013, she put her foot in her mouth during a press conference, calling the battle to keep late-term abortions legal “sacred ground.”

Pelosi’s stance on abortion is radical in most Americans’ eyes. Polls consistently show that most Americans oppose most abortions. Just a slim percent of Americans want abortion to be legal up until birth, and very few want their tax dollars to pay for abortions.
