The alternative rock ban Garbage angered a number of fans earlier this week by showing its support for the Planned Parenthood abortion chain.
Fans criticized the band for being “too political” and supporting “the murder of innocent, defenseless human beings.”
A day later, the band responded with a message to its pro-life fans: Go away. We don’t need you.
Brooklyn Vegan reports Garbage advertised its “When I Grow Up Planned Parenthood Charity” t-shirts on Giving Tuesday as a way fans could help the band support the abortion chain. The band promised to donate proceeds from the muscle t-shirt to Planned Parenthood.
When some fans saw the ad, they complained. A few people asked the band to just stay out of politics, while others expressed disgust that the musicians would support a group that makes money killing unborn babies.
Unfazed, the band responded with a public statement telling its pro-life fans to stop listening.
“If it offends you that we defend a woman’s right to choose……..please go support another band. We are not the band for you,” Garbage said in the statement.
The band continued:
“If it offends you that I am/we are political……..please go follow another band. We pay taxes. We not only have a right to be political but we would be morons if we weren’t. We are entitled to have an opinion. Just like you are.
“If it offends you that we don’t agree with everything YOU agree with, go follow another band. You are not our kind of people.
“It’s been real swell.”
Planned Parenthood had received a lot of support lately from celebrities and other rich American elites. But the same cannot be said for the general public. The abortion chain lost about half a million patients during the past decade, despite receiving strong support from pro-abortion President Barack Obama. Many others became disgusted when they saw the undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s gruesome baby body parts trade. Polls show a majority of Americans want to see Planned Parenthood defunded of our tax dollars.
Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the United States, aborting approximately 320,000 unborn babies every year. There are signs that the FBI currently may be investigating whether Planned Parenthood broke the law by selling aborted baby body parts.
