Late-Term Abortion Clinic Staffer: Pro-Lifers Make Us Want to Do More Abortions

Late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart has been in the news again lately because he opened a new abortion facility in Maryland that aborts unborn babies through all nine months of pregnancy.

In a new interview with Elite Daily, Carhart’s staff brashly stated that pro-life advocates motivate them to do more abortions.

“Everything that all the anti-abortion extremists do actually drives us harder into our work, essentially,” said Chelsea Souder, a spokesperson for Carhart. “It kind of has the opposite effect, I think, of what they are going for when it comes to trying to intimidate and threaten and harass abortion providers. It’s not going to stop us.”

The report basically was propaganda in support of late-term abortions. It never went into how dangerous late-term abortions are for women as well as their viable, living unborn babies. Nor did it mention how several women have died along with their unborn babies soon after leaving Carhart’s abortion facilities and dozens have left in ambulances

The report began by completely mischaracterizing the reason why Carhart’s Germantown abortion facility closed earlier this year. It claimed pro-lifers “forced” him to close, but a Washington Post report contradicts this claim. Todd Stave, who owned the Germantown facility, told the Post that he decided to close because it was not making enough money.

Carhart now is aborting late-term unborn babies in Bethesda, a facility he opened this fall after Stave closed the Germantown location.

Souder blamed pro-life advocates for making it difficult for them to do late-term abortions. Carhart is one of only four abortionists in the United States who publicly advertises abortions through all nine months of pregnancy.

“With the current administration, the current political climate, we don’t know what will happen in the next few years as far as legislature when it comes to abortion access,” Souder said. “But in the meantime, we’re not going to act any differently. As we always have, we’re doing everything according to the law. We just feel like our job is to continue to care for our patients and to ensure that women can access abortion care when they feel like they need to.”

She claimed that their motivation is to care for women, not egg on pro-lifers.

According to the report:

This isn’t an angst-driven reaction, however — it’s not like when someone tells you something is forbidden so you only want to do it more. Instead, the Carhart clinic’s motivation comes from care and concern for women. It’s the women, as well as the protesters and laws that try to “stop our patients from accessing our care,” that “continues to drive us,” Souder explains.

But Souder gets it all wrong. The reason why pro-life advocates work so hard is because they care about women and their unborn babies. The late-term abortions that Carhart is selling are especially life-threatening to both mother and child. And these are babies who more than likely would survive outside the womb if given the proper medical attention.

Pro-life advocates believe that women and babies deserve better than pain and death. They deserve the opportunity to live and thrive, but abortion clinics will never help them do that.
