Maine Pro-Life Voters Should Oppose Question 2, Which Would Fund Abortions With Your Tax Dollars

Did you know Abortion is on the Maine Ballot this November?  Voters must know that Maine Ballot QUESTION 2 is connected to taxpayer funded abortion in Maine through Medicaid.

We urge you to VOTE NO ON 2.  STOP ABORTION EXPANSION IN MAINE.

Maine, as you know, has a long-standing opposition to tax payer funded abortions. We have fought long and hard in Augusta to successfully stop abortions being funded with our tax dollars.
We need your help this November to stop Question 2 from enactment.

If enacted, Question 2 would allow our tax dollars to fund abortion and abortion expansion in Maine! Planned Parenthood has donated thousands of dollars to the Pro-Question 2 campaign. Enactment of Question 2 in Maine would essentially bypass long standing federal legislation —the Hyde Amendment– which prohibits Title X Medicaid funding to be used for abortion.

Over the years, polling consistently indicates a majority of Americans oppose taxpayer funded abortions, regardless of their stance on the abortion.

And when enacting pro-abortion legislation fails, Big Abortion turns to the courts and to the ballot box to increase abortions. The more inroads we make in building the culture of life and reducing abortion, the more Big Abortion pushes back with new ways to increase their abortion numbers and profits.

For instance, you may recall hearing media reports earlier this month of Big Abortion filing a lawsuit against Maine Attorneys General for not allowing nurses to perform abortions. Maine’s safeguards of physicians performing abortions are now referred to as “restrictions” for women’s so-called healthcare.

And you may also recall in 2015, Maine’s three abortion providers (Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, Maine Family Planning and Mabel Wadsworth) filed a lawsuit against the State of Maine for not providing our tax dollars to fund abortions for low income women. This case has moved through Maine’s court system, and is now poised to be presented before Maine Supreme Court (the Law Court) before year end.

And just this week, under the guise of “Exposing Fake Clinics,” abortion activists are running an online and in-person crusade aimed at slandering the good works pregnancy help organizations are doing every single day. (view article)

Big Abortion will do whatever it takes to expand abortion. WE MUST STOP THEM IN THEIR TRACKS.

VOTE NO ON 2. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT NOW TO STOP THIS INSIDIOUS EXPANSION OF ABORTION IN OUR BEAUTIFUL STATE. Here’s a flyer for you to share and post.

Those who will be unavailable in Maine on November 7 can vote by absentee ballot. Absentee ballots can be requested from the state here.

Spread the word. VOTE NO on 2! Take a stand for Life! Stop taxpayer funded abortions in Maine through Medicaid expansion.
