Kathy Griffin has apologized for taking a picture holding President Donald Trump’s bloodied decapitated head. In a video posted on both Instagram and Twitter, Griffin said that while she’s a comic and usually pushes the line on things, she “went way too far” this time and should not have done it. She’s also asked that the photo be taken down.

Griffin said that she was unaware of how upset people were at the photo.

Prior to posting the apology video, Griffin had defended the image as art, and said that she did not condone violence. These tweets have since been deleted.

While she’s free to do what she wants, this was incredibly inappropriate.
