Abortionist Willie Parker seems to thrive on making nonsensical and outrageous statements that get him attention.
Often, the southern abortion practitioner likes to say he is a Christian who performs abortions because of his faith. But this week, he turned to the subject of race.
Parker, an African American who works as an abortionist in Mississippi, Georgia and Alabama, spoke Wednesday at the Politics and Prose bookstore in Washington, D.C. during a promotional tour for his new book, according to Townhall.
At one point during the event, Parker accused pro-lifers of being racist for trying to protect unborn black babies from abortion. He basically claimed that white pro-lifers want to oppress black women by forcing them to be mothers.
Abortions in the black community are disproportionately high compared to other racial groups. For example, African American women in New York City have more abortions than lives births. It is estimated that more than 16 million African-American babies were not born in the U.S. because they were aborted.

[Parker] was asked about those in the pro-life movement that argue that abortion is “black genocide” based on the disproportionately high rates of abortion in the black community.
Parker called this a “Jedi mind trick.”
“I say it’s a Jedi mind trick,” he explained, “because the irony is if you say that women, poor women, are committing genocide and you try and force them to continue pregnancies and then you deny them access to the very human services that would provide a modicum of dignity both for themselves and their children.”
If you believe that women need abortion to maintain their dignity that response is logical, albeit somewhat sexist. It’s the next thing he says that gives one pause.
“What it means,” he claimed, “is what you’re really trying to do is control abortion, control the fertility of black woman and thereby you control the fertility of all women. Paradoxically you say oh you want to decrease abortion services but what you’re really doing is you’re trying to control the fertility of white women. Why? Because if you’re feeling racially vulnerable in terms of with the browning of America, given that by 2050 there’ll be no clear cut numerical majority, it’ll be a constellation of minorities.”
In the end, Parker said women need to be able to abort their unborn babies to succeed, and minority women are the ones struggling the most.
“What happens is you can’t attack women who are getting education, running for office, because they’re rejecting the primacy of motherhood, and having aspirations beyond the model that would allow you to make them the repository of white culture. So I say it’s disingenuous at best and it’s downright cynical at worst to force people into more misery and suffering and that’s what you do when you deny poor women of color the right to control their fertility,” he concluded.
But once a woman is pregnant, the issue goes beyond just controlling fertility. Pregnancy means that two human lives are involved, not just one. And the second life is an innocent unborn baby whose life is dependent on his or her mother.
Women can be mothers and be successful. Many women say their children encouraged them to work harder and strive more to reach their career and education goals. But Parker and his abortion industry friends push a message that implies women are not strong enough or capable enough. Women of all colors and cultures are being damaged and demeaned by the deceptive message that women need to kill their unborn babies to succeed.
