The celebrity enthusiasm for Planned Parenthood would be inspiring if it wasn’t such a terrible organization.

There are thousands of worthy charities that these rich stars could use their money and influence to promote, organizations that help sick children, single parents, refugees, abuse victims, foster children, students, veterans, etc.

Instead, the Hollywood elite are eagerly lining up to fundraise for a group that kills more than 300,000 unborn baby boys and girls every single year.

Billboard Magazine reports several big stars are collaborating on a new box-set of albums to benefit the abortion chain. The stars never mention the word “abortion” in their publicity efforts, though abortion is really what Planned Parenthood is all about.

John Legend, Foo Fighters and Mary J. Blige are among the musicians involved in the “7 Inches for Planned Parenthood” project. Comedian Zach Galifianakis and actress Kristen Stewart also are participating.

The project is the celebrities’ response to plans to defund Planned Parenthood of nearly half a billion tax dollars. Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the U.S., and has been caught in numerous scandals, including potentially illegal sales of aborted babies’ body parts, Medicaid fraud and failures to report suspected sex trafficking and sexual abuse of minors.

Planned Parenthood could continue to receive tax dollars if it stops its abortion practices and starts focusing on legitimate health care, but it has refused to do so.

And some of the top names in the entertainment industry are allowing its abusive abortion practices to continue through their support.

According to Billboard, the performers involved with the abortion fundraiser are:

Aparna Nancherla, Björk, Bon Iver, Bryce Dessner, Chvrches (with film clip directed by Kristen Stewart), Common, Dr. Willie Parker, Dream Hampton, Elliott Smith, Estelle, Feist, Foo Fighters, Heather McGhee, Helado Negro, Janeane Garofalo, Jenny Slate, John Legend, Jon Brion, Laurie Anderson, Margaret Atwood, Margaret Cho, Mary J. Blige, Mary Lattimore, Matt Berninger, Meg Baird, Mitski, Nico Muhly, Pete Holmes, Sarah Silverman, Sharon Van Etten, Sleater-Kinney, St. Vincent, Tig Notaro and Zach Galifianakis.

The celebrity collaboration plans to sell the singles album set to benefit Planned Parenthood.

“Lawmakers with extreme views are working hard to shut down Planned Parenthood,” the celebrities said in a statement. “If they succeed, millions of Americans will lose access to basic health services, including STD testing and treatment, birth control, and life-saving cancer screenings. 7-inches for Planned Parenthood is a response to this threat.”

This simply is not true. It ignores how non-abortion services have been dropping steadily at Planned Parenthood, but its abortion numbers remain high, according to Planned Parenthood’s own annual reports.

It also ignores lawmakers repeated promises to pass legislation that would redirect tax dollars to community health centers. A recent survey found that community health centers not only provide more comprehensive health care than Planned Parenthood, excluding abortions, they also outnumber the abortion group’s facilities by 20 to one.

Celebrities are fooling themselves and their fans when they claim that the are helping low-income individuals by supporting Planned Parenthood. What they are supporting is abortion.
