Members of the national organization for pro-life college students will protest a fundraiser tomorrow in Fort Worth Texas where former first daughter Barbara Bush will be headlining a fundraiser for the Planned Parenthood abortion company.

The president of Students for Life of America tells LifeNews.com that pro-life students will be leading a protest tomorrow outside the hotel or the fundraiser for Planned Parenthood is planned.

Barbara Bush is coming under fire for supporting the abortion business — which puts her at odds with her pro-life father President George W.  Bush, who defunded International Planned Parenthood during his first week in office as president.

“While children aren’t beholden to their parents’ ideals, values and moral views, it is disappointing that Barbara Bush, daughter of President George W. Bush, is keynoting a Planned Parenthood fundraiser, especially since her father held clearly anti-abortion public stances,” Kristan Hawkins, president of SFLA, told LifeNews.

“Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion vendor and promotes abortion worldwide. There is no amount of good they can possibly do to make up for taking hundreds of thousands of innocent lives every year, which is something we wish Barbara Bush would have considered before accepting the keynote speech,” she added. “There will be young women there on Wednesday in Fort Worth representing the Pro-Life Generation who rejects abortion and rejects the notion that women must be able to end the lives of their children in order to pursue their own dreams.”

Pro-life young women and men from area universities and local pro-life groups will protest.

The lunch event benefits Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas, with sponsorships of up to $20,000. This is the same affiliate whose abortion practitioner Amna Dermish was caught by the Center for Medical Progress explaining how she was striving to obtain “intact” aborted babies’ brains in later-term abortions.

Former President George W. Bush left a strong pro-life legacy during his presidency, signing every pro-life bill that reached his desk. During his administration, Bush saw abortions decline to new lows, and he made history in 2003 by signing the first measure to ever ban a form of abortion: brutal, late-term partial birth abortions.

He also demonstrated his pro-life commitment on his first day in office when he re-instituted the Mexico City Policy, which stops taxpayer funding of groups that promote or perform abortions in other nations. Later he extended that policy further to prevent pro-abortion funding within all State Department programs.

Pro-abortion President Barack Obama reversed the policy during his first week in office, but President Donald Trump reinstated it in January.

President Bush also supported the Born Alive Infants Protection Act to protect babies who survive abortions. He also signed into law the Unborn Victims of Violence Act to offer protection and justice to pregnant women like Laci Peterson and their unborn children who are killed or injured in violent attacks.
