Pro-Abortion Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Assures Liberals She’s Not Retiring

Liberal pro-abortion icon Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg went to George Washington University yesterday where (we read) “she planned to promote a book featuring a collection of her writings.” (The book is, “My Own Words,” and the session was moderated by NPR’s ultra-pro-abortion Nina Totenberg.)

But she also gave an interview to BBC’s ‘‘Newsnight’’ where she praised the Media Elite—specifically, the Washington Post and the New York Times—who are universally hostile to President Donald Trump.

“I read The Washington Post and The New York Times every day, and I think that the reporters are trying to tell the public the way things are,” she said. After all (hint, hint), she reminded her interviewers, their coverage of the Watergate scandal led to the resignation of President Nixon.

Justice Ginsburg’s every word is parsed by her legion of admirers who stay up nights worrying the 83-year-old justice may retire. She has said many times, including yesterday, she is not planning to do so. If she did, obviously, it would provide President Trump with the chance to appoint a second justice to the nation’s highest court.

“I will do this job as long as I can do it full steam,” Ginsburg, 83, said, according to NBC News. “When I can’t, that will be the time I will step down.” But in case her supporters might be unnerved she cited the late Justice John Paul Stevens who was 90 when he retired, “So I have a way to go.”

Ginsburg praised the massive January 21 pro-abortion, anti-Trump Women’s March, according to Alex Johnson.

‘I’ve never seen such a demonstration, both the numbers and the rapport of the people in that crowd,’’ she said. ‘‘There was no violence, it was orderly. So yes, we are not experiencing the best times, but there is there is reason to hope that that we will see a better day.’’

Of course the day before—the day of the Inauguration—there was violence leveled against Trump supporters.

What other non “best of times” did Justice Ginsburg cite? How about internment of Japanese Americans during World War II.

So why is there reason for hope?

“A great man once said that the true symbol of the United States is not the bald eagle. It is the pendulum. And when the pendulum swings too far in one direction, it will go back.”

(Justice Ginsburg does not mention who that is, but from older stories it’s evidently a reference to her late husband, Martin Ginsburg.)

Again, without noting the irony, Ginsburg misses the obvious point that President Trump’s election is a perfect example of the pendulum swinging back from the extremist policies of his pro-abortion predecessor, Barack Obama.
