Abortion Activist at March for Life Tells Pro-Lifers: “My Life Didn’t Matter as an Embryo”

Spirits were high at the 44th annual March for Life in the nation’s capital on Friday. For the first time ever, a vice president was slated to speak at the year’s largest pro-life gathering. Furthermore, the president himself gave the event a shoutout on national TV and even chided the media for ignoring the march.

In other words, as Fox News’ Doug McKelway put it, the 2017 marchers now know they “have a friend in the White House.”

Like any march, Friday’s event did have a smattering of counter protesters. One particular group of pro-choice activists carried signs defending the right to abortion. When a pro-life marcher would yell, “Defend life!,” they’d respond, “It’s not a life – it’s a fetus!”

One pro-lifer confronted the group to try and find out more about their views. They discussed the million dollar question of the abortion debate: When does life begin?

“I think your life matters,” the woman told the pro-choice activist.

“Now it does – not when I was an embryo.”

“A human fetus is a human!”

I’d have to agree with the woman’s logical conclusion. Yet, like her, I also respect this man’s right to speak his mind. We can respectfully disagree with someone and not resort to smashing windows and lighting fires.

In addition to Vice President Pence, White House counsel Kellyanne Conway, NFL star Benjamin Watson and Rep. Mia Love (R-UT) also spoke at the rally before the march. The crowd was especially pumped when Pence told his fellow pro-lifers that President Trump will soon appoint a new Supreme Court justice who will uphold the right to life.
