House Speaker Paul Ryan says upcoming legislation to repeal the Obamacare health care law would cut off taxpayer money to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s biggest abortion company.

“The Planned Parenthood legislation would be in our reconciliation bill,” Ryan said.

Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser told LifeNews she is encouraged by Speaker Ryan’s commitment.

“Planned Parenthood is America’s largest abortion provider, performing over 300,000 abortions per year. Today’s commitment by Speaker Ryan to re-direct the abortion giant’s taxpayer funding to community health centers is a victory for women’s health care. Community health centers provide far more services than Planned Parenthood and outnumber them 20 to 1 nationwide. We commend Speaker Paul Ryan on his continued resolve to fund women’s health care, not abortion. His pro-life, pro-woman resolve is shared by Majority Leader McConnell and President-elect Trump, and we are confident Congress will get this important legislation to the President’s desk for his signature after the inauguration.”

Polling in 2018 Senate battleground states shows that voters support re-directing Planned Parenthood’s funding to community health centers. Vulnerable pro-abortion Democratic Senators need to do a serious gut check, especially following the 2016 election outcome, and decide if they will stand with their constituents and women’s health care or continue to funnel money to big abortion.”

SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must De-Fund Planned Parenthood Immediately

Yesterday, the U.S. Senate took the first step in paving the way for a vote on defunding the Planned Parenthood abortion corporation.

The Senate approved on a virtual party-line vote a budget resolution bill. This repeal resolution is the first step in the process to re-direct Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer funding to legitimate health care entities and repeal Obamacare using the budget reconciliation procedure.

President-elect Donald Trump has promised to sign a bill that would defund the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

During the campaign, Trump said “I am committed to defunding Planned Parenthood as long as they continue to perform abortions and reallocating their funding to community health centers that provide comprehensive health care for women.”

Earlier in the campaign, Trump specifically promised he would sign a bill as president to de-fund Planned Parenthood. In an interview with David Brody of CBN, Trump made that promise:

David Brody: “As a President Trump, if a bill came to your desk that would defund Planned Parenthood you would support that, you would sign that?”

Donald Trump: “Yes, because as long as they do the abortion I am not for funding Planned Parenthood… As long as they’re involved with abortion, as far as I’m concerned forget it, I wouldn’t fund them regardless. I would defund Planned Parenthood because of their view and the fact of their work on abortion…. I am for defunding Planned Parenthood as long as they are involved with abortion.”
