Unborn Children Feel Excruciating Pain During Abortions But the Media Calls That “Fake News”

As we are at the end some lame duck state legislative sessions and are preparing for the 2017 sessions, the pro-abortionists’ best friend–the media–is swinging into a kind of preemptive DEFCON 1 status.

It’s the end of the world (as they know it), they moan. It’s bad enough that pro-life Republicans control more and more state legislative bodies and governor’s office, now these “abortion foes” are “emboldened” by the election of President-elect Donald Trump (to crib from the New York Times ).

Take an editorial in today’s Times of Trenton [ New Jersey], “N.J. abortion ban a threat to women’s right to choose.” Here are the two paragraphs which prepare the reader to understand why there is what might be called the “Trump Effect”:

Meanwhile, President-Elect Donald Trump has surrounded himself with rabid abortion foes, including his pick for vice president, Mike Pence, and his nominee to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, Tom Price.

The incoming president took up the right-wing battle cry against Planned Parenthood, and also vowed during his campaign to nominate U.S. Supreme Court Justices who oppose Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 decision that affirmed a woman’s right to choose.

So what has happened locally as a result? According to the editorial board

Newly emboldened by these events, several Republican lawmakers in New Jersey are pushing a bill they’ve dubbed the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act,” based on the hugely discredited notion that a 20-week-old fetus can experience pain in the womb.

To be clear, it is not only New Jersey Republican lawmakers who are already in the process of offering up a measure that says you cannot tear apart unborn babies capable of excruciating hellacious pain as their limbs are separated from their torso. In the lame duck session the Ohio legislature passed its version. Still others likely will in the months to come.

And the law is already on the books in 14 states— Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. (And, by the way, the medical evidence for the capacity of the unborn to experience pain at 20 weeks is not “highly discredited.”)

So why is the Times of Trenton editorial board up in arms? “The proposed bill is a daring incursion into dangerous territory: chipping away at a decision that – legally and morally – should be between a woman and her doctor.”

Really? Does the editorial board know how much support there is for a bill just like this?

For example, do its members know that a nationwide poll taken Election Day by The polling company, inc./WomanTrend for the Susan B. Anthony List found almost two-thirds support for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act—well more than double those who opposed: 64% to 28%?

Or that support for the bill in the new poll extended across all demographic and geographic boundaries? For example

· Millennial voters         78% support

· Women voters             67% support

· African Americans     70% support

· Hispanics                     57 % support

“Fake news” is nothing new. For more than four decades, the mainstream media has been peddling the bogus line that the public is behind pro-abortion position.

But no matter how they fold, bend, or mutilate the data, a majority of the public opposes the reasons for which 90%+ of all abortions are performed. That’s a fact. Period, end of report.

And a strong majority really opposes later abortions and really, really opposes having their pockets picked to pay for abortions.

But you’ll never read that in the Times of Trenton.
