Beastie Boys Member Leads Planned Parenthood Donation Campaign: Fight for Your Right to Abort Your Baby

Liberals often have a difficult time understanding the concept of irony, as clearly demonstrated by Adam Horovitz, who is called “Ad-Rock” or “King Ad-Rock” when performing with the Beastie Boys “hip-hop” band.

While supporting the humane treatment of animals, Horovitz strongly believes in “a woman’s right to choose” the inhumane abortion of unborn children. Yes, he opposes the slaughter of animals for meat or clothes, but the people who sell dead human baby parts deserve his contributions.

According to an article by Paul Bois, administrator of the Truth Revolt website, the musician “is having a very bad case of cognitive dissonance” since he does not eat or use animal products but will donate all proceeds from the sale of the “vegan set of shoes” he’s designed to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s biggest provider of abortions.

Horovitz has announced he “will partner with the Los Angeles-based shoe company Keep” to create the limited-edition set of footwear, which will “feature a ‘weather-resistant, nylon cordura body, synthetic fleece lining and channel quilting on the ankles.’”

A page on the company’s website states: “A pair costs $97, and the company boasts that all of its shoes are ‘cruelty-free’ and are produced in factories audited by independent third parties that monitor for ethical working conditions.”

The site also refers to the shoes as “a new take on our classic midtop which was inspired” by Horovitz “to make a sneaker that would keep him warm during the winter months.”

“The D-ring and bungee lace structure makes for easy slipping on and off, and both black and magenta laces are included,” the site notes. “To finish, each pair features embroidery of Adam’s name, split between left and the right shoes.”

In a statement, Horovitz “openly said he proudly supports ‘a woman’s right to choose:’”

Given the outcome of our current election, it’s gonna get a lot colder before we can feel that summer sun again.

So I collaborated with my friend Una [Kim, founder of] Keep shoes not just because I wanted warm sneaks, but because I support small business. I support women-run business. I support Asian-American run business.

“Net proceeds of this shoe will be donated to Planned Parenthood because I … feel that women should not be punished for making decisions about their own lives and bodies,” the musician also stated.

“If you have similar beliefs, you might wanna grab a pair,” he added. “Or if you simply support fresh styles, then you too can be part of what peeps in Keeps are doing.”

While performing with the Beastie Boys, Horovitz provided vocal and guitar music as the band released a string of successful singles and toured with pop icon Madonna Ciccone in 1985. A year later, they released the debut album Licensed to Ill.

The group sold 26 million albums in the United States and 50 million albums worldwide, making them the biggest-selling rap group of all time, according to Billboard magazine.

One month after the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April of 2012, singer Adam Yauch died of cancer of the parotid salivary gland, and the group soon disbanded.

As NewsBusters previously reported, Planned Parenthood celebrated its 100th anniversary in mid-October, which drew applause from the liberal panelists on ABC’s The View daily program, and more than 30 celebrities marked the occasion by tweeting celebratory messages regarding the abortion provider’s landmark event.

It’s a sad day when a celebrity’s priorities are so skewed that he devotes his time and resources to protecting animals but also supports the biggest institution that kills unborn human children. That person could stand a reversal of priorities long before Planned Parenthood reaches another anniversary.
