Planned Parenthood Opposes Rep. Tom Price for HHS Secretary: He Will Defund Us

The Planned Parenthood abortion business is wasting no time at all opposing the nomination of pro-life Congressman Tom Price as HHS secretary. President-elect Donald Trump nominated the pro-life Congressman as the head of the Department of Health and Human Services.

The nation’s leading abortion business sent an urgent email to its pro-abortion supporters today asking them to call on their Senators to oppose Price’s nomination to the cabinet post.

In the email, the vice president of Planned Parenthood told her organization’s supporters that Price has a 0 percent pro-abortion record and has voted repeatedly to oppose abortion and funding the abortion giant. Using inflammatory language, she claims that Price will prevent women from accessing Health Care — using euphemisms to cover up its abortion agenda.

“Rep. Price has a 0% rating — yes, 0% — from Planned Parenthood Action Fund,” Planned Parenthood abortion biz VP Dawn Laguens complained. “He’s voted against women’s health and reproductive rights at least 30 times — against the Affordable Care Act, against funding for Planned Parenthood health centers, and against the right to access safe, legal abortion. Time and time again, Rep. Price has proven himself to be a direct threat to women’s health and rights.”

“Rep. Price is the wrong nominee for the job, which is why we oppose his nomination. Help us stop it now,” Laguens added. “Send a message to key senators now: Oppose Rep. Price for Secretary of HHS.”

“A small group of senators on two key committees will be the first to question Rep. Price. Here’s our message to them: A majority of Americans support access to reproductive health care, including abortion, and we expect our nation’s top health care officer to protect and expand access to care. If he won’t do that — and his record strongly suggests he won’t — he’s not fit for the job,” she continued.

The abortion company’s alarmist complaints continued: “Planned Parenthood health centers have seen a surge in online appointments for birth control since the election, with a 900% increase in people seeking IUDs. People are worried they will lose their health care if someone like Tom Price takes power and pushes the same anti-women’s health agenda he supported as a lawmaker in Congress.”

“We need the senators on these two key committees to hear from us today,” it concluded.

On the other side of the debate, pro -life groups are very enthused about Price’s nomination. Family Research Council today commended President-elect Donald Trump’s choice  in an email to LifeNews.

“I offer my congratulations to U.S. Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) on his selection as HHS Secretary. We have worked closely with him throughout his 11 years in Congress and have found him to be a committed conservative who has led the way in the effort to repeal and replace Obamacare. He has been a strong advocate for legislation that would ensure Americans are not forced to subsidize elective abortion, and has worked to halt overbearing HHS mandates, FRC president Tony Perkins said.

He added: “I applaud President-Elect Trump for selecting a HHS secretary who is well-suited to implement an alternative to Obamacare and reverse the damage done by President Obama’s worst policy failure. As a doctor who worked in private practice for two decades, Dr. Price will pursue a health care system that is market-focused and patient-driven,” concluded Perkins.”
