An abortionist is on trial for the alleged rape and indecent assault of his 20-year-old employee and patient. A Grand Bahama court began hearing allegations that Dr. Gerald Mark Forbes raped the patient during an abortion procedure on Thursday, according to Tribune 242.

Forbes has been accused of unlawful acts between January and March 2015 at his Carico Medical Clinic located in Freeport, the report states.

During the trial last week, the Bahaman Supreme Court heard from Lead Detective Lenicka Scott who described her meeting with the patient at the Central Police Station. Scott had a written statement from the woman, as well as a package of Methotrexate that was prescribed to her by Forbes. Methotrexate is used to induce an abortion. Scott said she also conducted an interview with Forbes at the Central Detective Unit.

Tribune 242 reported more about the severity of the allegations:

During her interview, Det Scott informed Dr Forbes of the allegations against him: that on February 15 at his clinic while he was performing a physical examination on a female employee he rubbed her vagina and masturbated and that on March 2, while he was performing a medical procedure he had sexual intercourse with the female employee against her will.

The report continued:

When questioned if he knew the complainant, Dr Forbes responded “yes”, saying that she was “a friend of a friend” to whom he gave an opportunity to work at his office for two months from January to March.

When asked the reason why the complainant was no longer employed at his clinic, the doctor said he told her that business was slow.

During the interview, the detective asked: “When you hired her did you inform her that she would have to undergo a physical exam to work at the clinic?”

The doctor responded that he had “nothing to say.”

The officer also asked: “In February while you were performing a physical exam of the (virtual complainant) did you rub her vagina and masturbate?”

The accused again replied that he had “nothing to say.”

Detective Scott then asked: “Did the virtual complainant on March 2 while at work ask for a pregnancy test and it was positive?”

The accused repeated that he had nothing to say.

The officer asked: “Did the virtual complainant ask if you could perform the termination of a pregnancy and you told her you could?”

He again said he had nothing to say.

Forbes also refused to comment when questioned on the Methotrexate pills, according to the report.

This case is a horrifying glimpse into the abuse that women sometimes suffer in abortion facilities. In another recent case, an abortionist who worked at Planned Parenthood reportedly fled the country after he allegedly sexually molested several patients.

Abortion also can be used as a cover-up for incest and abuse. Abortion is marketed as a healthy and even necessary option for a woman, yet when a girl is sent by her abuser to have an abortion, it sometimes goes unreported by abortion workers, as it did in an Alabama case in 2014. Sadly, this is another example of the abuse abortion facilities frequently hide.
