Today’s Abolitionists Unite in One Voice to End the Violent Injustice of Abortion

Human history is filled with injustices…and victories over them. Slavery abolitionists in this country were often often defeated legally, emotionally, and spiritually. It’s why many of them focused on the Deliverer, the Healer, the Creator of us all. The Word of God and anti-slavery hymn books were sources of inspiration and motivation for a remnant who had fought, with all of their strength, to elevate human dignity. But human strength was (and is) never enough. The evil of slavery was no match for the goodness of God.

Different century, same dehumanization. Abortion is our generation’s sin. Even after being exposed for its heinous abortion practices and harvesting of aborted babies’ organs, Planned Parenthood still receives massive support from Americans, including many misguided Christians. Birthed in eugenic racism and elitism, this corrupt business empire implements its anti-human worldview in abortion violence nearly 1,000 times a day. Since Roe, over 58 million have been slaughtered by the abortion industry in the name of convenience and self-elevation. This isn’t a symbol of freedom. It’s not justice. It’s the most tragic violation of human rights today.

And like all evil, legalized abortion is based on a lie. “Jane Roe” lied about being raped which propelled a fraudulent case for abortion all the way to the Supreme Court, which then lied about not knowing when life begins. Science had determined that a long time ago. (By the way, triumph can rise from the tragedy of rape. My courageous birthmom chose life despite the horror of rape, proving that she was stronger than her circumstances.) Thankfully, the baby at the center of this judicial circus was never aborted. She was adopted by a family in Texas. Today she is 46 years old. Today, her mother, Norma McCorvey (aka Jane Roe) is passionately pro-life. She realized soon after the supremely wrong Roe v. Wade ruling and a powerful conversion to Christianity that abortion only exploits and destroys.

This is why prolife Americans are gathering from across the country to unite as one in prayer and worship to end the physical, emotional and spiritual violence of abortion. Thursday, January 21st, the night before the annual March for Life, The Radiance Foundation and Bound4LIFE will host the 2nd annual OneVoiceDC–the only evangelical worship event of its kind during this amazing week in DC. This non-denominational event will join leaders from national pro-life, pro-family, pro-liberty organizations and other passionate pro-life advocates in a multi-generational, multi-denominational, multi-racial gathering. Held at the Renaissance Downtown DC Hotel from 7p-9:30pm, OneVoiceDC is all about praying to end abortion, worshipping as a diverse yet united body of Christ, seeking healing and forgiveness, and celebrating the victories already won.

We are today’s abolitionists. Our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness is not given to us by the government, but by the Creator. That eliminates the arbitrary nonsense that humankind specializes in. Every human being, in and out of the womb, has irreplaceable intrinsic value assigned by Heaven, not legislators or judges.

Rain, sleet or a foot of snow won’t stop pro-life activists from flooding into the nation’s capital. The freezing weather won’t daunt us. We’re used to self-sacrifice because we understand that it is the foundation of the most powerful form of human expression: love.

Mainstream media may ignore us. Back in the 1800s they refused to tell the truth about slavery, too. It took a former slave turned abolitionist, Frederick Douglass, to start his own newspaper to educate the public. Journalists can choose to continue to cheer for the side of discrimination, dehumanization and destruction or the side of humanity, hope and healing.

Even without the news media, public education, or politicians, we believe truth and justice will eventually prevail. Regardless of any polling, even if we are but a small remnant, we agree with the words of Douglass–the one who reshaped the conscience of President Lincoln: “One and God make a majority.”

So join the majority as we pray and worship, in powerful unity, at OneVoiceDC.
