As our local chapter, Montgomery County Right to Life in Texas reported earlier this week:

It is with great sadness that MCRTL shares that Daisy Baez Estrada, who was featured in the winning 2014 MCRTL Video Contest film, was killed early Sunday morning in College Station. Daisy along with her friend, Brian Gonzalez, was struck by a truck while attempting to cross the street.

2014 was the first year that MCRTL sponsored the Video Contest. Christian Quincena, Jeremiah Velasco, and Daisy teamed to create “Would You Take Action?” The video went on to win the National Right to Life Video Contest and was then entered in a film festival in Hollywood.

This is indeed a tremendous loss for our right-to-life family. Young Daisy Baez Estrada and her friends together created a unique pro-life message on YouTube. I was so glad that they were able to travel to Louisville last summer so that we could meet them in person when their video was shown at a General Session of our National Right to Life Convention.

I remember how our Convention attendees gave these three kids from Texas a lengthy standing ovation for their impressive work. I will never forget how eager she was to be there and to attend workshops and meet other pro-life folks.

The winning video, which features Daisy, is called “Would You Take Action?,” and it is on the NRL YouTube channel.

We will all be saying many prayers for Daisy’s family, for Montgomery County Right to Life, and Texas Right to Life.
