In an interview with MSNBC after she was grilled for five hours at a Congressional hearing about Planned Parenthood selling aborted babies and making a profit doing abortions while still getting half a billion in taxpayer funding, abortion business CEO Cecile Richards complained the questioning was sexist.

Questions about how much money Richards makes (over half a million) heading up the nation’s biggest abortion business prompted Democrats on the committee to complain that Republicans were engaging in sexist attacks. Richards agreed.

“I do think some of the comments were pretty sexist,” Cecile Richards said in an interview on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” late Tuesday. “But actually I think it was because they didn’t have anything else to talk about.”

Richards condemned Republicans for trying to use the hearing — “obviously, I’m being generous calling it a hearing” — to stop taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood. She called the hearing a “terrible political move” and claimed pro-life people just want to stop legitimate women’s health care.

“They are obsessed with ending access to reproductive healthcare for women in America,” she said. “Frankly, I was a bit dismayed about how little many members of the committee even knew about women’s health at all.”

“Folks love Planned Parenthood, not because of our brand, not because of anything they see on TV,” she said, highlighting her belief that critics are simply motivated by doing away with legal abortion. “It’s because they come to us for health care.”
