In a new documentary, Kermit Gosnell, the late-term abortionist who was convicted on three counts of first-degree murder in 2013, defends his abortion record and once again says he is innocent. In the trailer for the film, 3801 Lancaster: An American Tragedy, Gosnell says, “I very strongly believe in my innocence, and there are a number of people who believe that.”

In another clip, Gosnell says after reading the Bible since his incarceration, he now feels justified doing abortions: “Until I really completed my first Genesis to Revelation reading of the Bible — which I did since I was incarcerated — I really didn’t feel as comfortable as I am.”

“I think it’s Genesis 2:7, expresses the breath of life as the beginning of life that God breathed breath — breathed life — into Adam. The Bible, to me, is very clear that life does not happen until breath,” he contends.

The Federalist reports that Gosnell gave an explanation for his actions in a phone interview from prison. He said, “A practical man changes to live within his society. Impractical man has the priority of changing society to meet his own needs. Therefore progress can only be accomplished by impractical man.” Then, when asked if he believed that he was an impractical man, he said, “No question.”

The producers of the documentary were originally planning to release the film last year; however, they decided to wait after finding out that Gosnell was open to interviews. In a letter, Gosnell explained that he would cooperate with them for the making of the film. In a letter, he said, “If you are able to consider that my particular circumstances are exemplary of a larger and more important issue, you will have my full attention and cooperation. Sincerely, Kermit Barron Gosnell.”

As LifeNews previously reported, Gosnell was initially charged with eight counts of murder along with several of his staff at his abortion clinic. In fact, his wife and sister-in-law were charged for assisting in in botched abortions, practicing medicine without a license or covering up the actions of those who did. Unbelievably, the Grand Jury report estimates that Gosnell delivered hundreds of babies alive and then had their spinal cords “snipped.”

Some referred to Gosnell’s abortion facility as a “House of Horrors” and said it was a place where minority women were maimed and their babies were butchered. His “clinic” was filled with bloody furniture, outdated equipment, and the body parts of babies that he slaughtered. Indiana representative Marlin Stutzman described Gosnell’s facility before members of Congress.

He said, “In that building—crawling with animals, reeking of urine, and filled with bloodstained furniture—Kermit Gosnell was running a slaughterhouse. On a regular basis, he used a pair of scissors to sever the spinal cords of helpless babies who were born alive during illegal, late-term abortions. The loss of these lives should scar the conscience of civilized people everywhere. This is not a discussion about abstract concepts like ‘choice,’ we are talking about brutal deaths of newborn children.”

The full documentary will be released on November 10th to local theaters upon request. Watch the trailer for the chilling new film below.
