Nancy Pelosi is bashing Republicans for their efforts to de-fund Planned Parenthood. She seems to think supporters of defunding the abortion company don’t understand the basics of sex.
The Hill reports that Pelosi told reporters, “This is more than Planned Parenthood. It’s about women, it’s about reproductive freedom, it’s about respect for women’s judgment about the sizing and timing of their families. How dare they be so disrespectful to women? How dare they be so disregarding of women’s health issues.”
She added that she thinks Republicans needs to learn more about the birds and the bees.

She said, “Since I have been here — it’s 28 years — they have been out to get Planned Parenthood. … And the hardest thing, the hardest convincing, that I’ve ever had to do … is to convince people that what was going on here was anti-family planning. It wasn’t about abortion — grant everybody where they are on that subject — but they did not support family planning. If you don’t like termination of a pregnancy … you must love family planning, right? Do we need to have a discussion of the birds and bees with them?”
In July, Planned Parenthood made national headlines after videos were released showing their top executives discussing the systematic harvesting and trafficking of human body parts from aborted babies. However, top Democrats have decided to stand with the abortion company, and they’ve even used the scandal to amp up efforts to raise money for upcoming elections.
Unfortunately, Pelosi’s recent support of Planned Parenthood is not surprising since she has been open about her radical abortion views in the past. As LifeNews previously reported, in 2013, the House Minority Leader said late-term abortion is “sacred ground.” She explained, “As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this. This shouldn’t have anything to do with politics.”
In response, Priests for Life wrote her an open leader saying her comments make a mockery of the Catholic faith. They said, “With this statement, you make a mockery of the Catholic faith and of the tens of millions of Americans who consider themselves “practicing and respectful Catholics” and who find the killing of children — whether inside or outside the womb — reprehensible.”

They added, “Abortion is not sacred ground; it is sacrilegious ground. To imagine God giving the slightest approval to an act that dismembers a child he created is offensive to both faith and reason,” the letter adds. “And to say that a question about the difference between a legal medical procedure and murder should not “have anything to do with politics” reveals a profound failure to understand your own political responsibilities, which start with the duty to secure the God-given right to life of every citizen.”
Additionally, earlier this summer, Pelosi said the Planned Parenthood expose’ videos were a “distraction” and there was no way Democrats would support de-funding the abortion giant. Instead of investigating and de-funding Planned Parenthood, Pelosi said there should be an investigation into The Center for Medical Progress, the organization that released the videos.
She said, “Let’s have an investigation of those people who were trying to ensnare Planned Parenthood in a controversy that doesn’t exist.” She concluded, “Planned Parenthood has said that they have done nothing illegal. They do not ever charge, which would be illegal, for fetal tissue. They have only defrayed the cost of mailing that to someone, which is not breaking the law.”
