On Wednesday night, pro-life Rep. Mia Love (R-Utah) told Lou Dobbs on his Fox Business show that Planned Parenthood’s organ harvesting business is “absolutely horrific,” and the videos released by The Center for Medical Progress make her very emotional. In the six minute interview, she started crying and said, “This is not about a right or left issues; this is about right or wrong. We’ve got to do everything we can … to make sure that we don’t allow this to happen.”

As LifeNews previously reported, Love is the first pro-life African American Republican female to be elected to Congress, and she has been very open about her pro-life views.

During her 2014 campaign, she said, “I am proud to say that I am pro-life. My commitment to pro-life policies is unwavering, and I look forward to working with others in Congress to protect the right to life. I have received endorsements from multiple pro-life organizations, including the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the nation’s oldest and largest pro-life organization.”

Additionally, the pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List endorsed Love in March of last year. In a press release, President Marjorie Dannenfelser, said, “The SBA List is proud to endorse Mia Love for Utah’s fourth district. We hope to help send this rising star to Washington in the fall. She will be an ideal advocate for women and unborn children. Throughout her political career, Mia has kept the pro-life cause close to her heart. Her unique voice will be an excellent addition to the House Pro-life Women’s Caucus.”

On August 19, Love joined Utah Governor Gary Herbert and a dozen other pro-life lawmakers at a rally calling on federal de-funding of Planned Parenthood. At the event, Gov. Herbert said, “We are not going to stop that funding. It just won’t be made available through Planned Parenthood.” He added, “The thing I find most appalling is the casualness, the callousness … the lack of respect, the lack of sensitivity to the unborn,” referring to the Planned Parenthood footage.

Keep up with the latest pro-life news and information on Twitter.

Earlier this week, a seventh video was released catching Planned Parenthood harvesting the brain of an aborted baby who was still alive. The new video includes the testimony of Holly O’Donnell, a former procurement technician, and her eyewitness account of Planned Parenthood dissecting an intact brain from a late-term unborn baby whose heart was still beating after the abortion. O’Donnell said her supervisor asked her, “Do you want to see something kind of cool?” Then she taped the baby’s heart and it started beating.

Here’s more on Love’s interview with Lou Dobbs:

On “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” Love came across as empathetic, heartfelt and eloquent as she laid bare her emotions on national television about abortion; emotions that seemed raw even weeks after the news of the leaked Planned Parenthood videos first broke. She spoke about how she’s a mother and wife and how if she doesn’t stand up for these unborn babies, who will?

It wasn’t the first time Love has spoken out publicly on Planned Parenthood, but it was certainly her most visible interview. And Republican Party leaders would undoubtedly like to see more of this. They have put women on the forefront of their fight to defund Planned Parenthood and are hoping to elevate elected officials like Love in a much-needed effort to expand the party’s reach among women and minorities.

But the party has arguably taken a few steps back in recent weeks thanks to Donald Trump, who is leading the Republican presidential field while not apologizing for calling women “fat pigs” and illegal Mexican immigrants “rapists and criminals.” Now more than ever, the GOP could really use some more Love. Specifically, this kind of Love.
