Today President Obama is celebrating his 54th birthday.
ABC News reports that in previous years he has spent his birthday at Camp David with family, playing basketball and bowling with friends and attending parties. That must be nice. Unfortunately, there are thousands upon thousands of Americans who will not be celebrating even one birthday because of President Obama’s extreme abortion views.
In 2008, when President Obama was elected, it wasn’t a secret that he supported legalized abortion. However, now we know that his love for abortion goes far past that and he has strong relationships with abortion groups like Planned Parenthood, NARAL and Emily’s List.
In fact, his love for Planned Parenthood is so deep that he refuses to support efforts to defund them even in light of recent videos showing their top executives haggling over the price of babies killed in abortions. Unbelievably, Obama Spokesperson Josh Ernest recently called Planned Parenthood’s negotiations with organ harvesting companies “ethical.”
As LifeNews previously reported, in 2009 Obama started his presidency with a bang by giving China, one of the worst countries in the world for sex-trafficking, millions of dollar to fund their brutal one-child policy. Then he promised the American people that his health care policy, Obamacare, would not fund abortion. However, four years later, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a report that showed that Obamacare plans cover abortion and receive taxpayer subsides.
In 2013, President Obama praised Planned Parenthood and asked God to bless them. He said, “As long as we’ve got to fight to make sure women have access to quality, affordable health care, and as long as we’ve got to fight to protect a woman’s right to make her own choices about her own health, I want you to know that you’ve also got a president who’s going to be right there with you, fighting every step of the way. Thank you, Planned Parenthood. God bless you.”
Additionally, earlier this year, he threatened to veto the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would protect babies after 20-weeks from abortion based on the concept that they can feel pain. In January, the Obama administration said in a press release: “The Administration strongly opposes H.R. 36, which would unacceptably restrict women’s health and reproductive rights and is an assault on a woman’s right to choose. Women should be able to make their own choices about their bodies and their health care, and Government should not inject itself into decisions best made between a woman and her doctor.”
President Obama is by far the most pro-abortion president in history and he has shown Americans that he will do everything in his power to protect groups that hold extreme abortion views. In the past, his friends at Planned Parenthood, NARAL and Emily’s List have opposed late term abortion bans, legislation protecting babies born alive in botched abortions and measures to protect women’s health. They have also campaigned for pro-abortion lawmakers.
This is why it is critical that Americans elect a pro-life president in 2016. But for now, all we can is pray that on President Obama’s 54th birthday he develops a conscience.
