44 Kentucky Legislators Ask Governor, AG to Investigate Planned Parenthood Selling Aborted Babies

In a letter to Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear and Attorney General Jack Conway, 44 legislators requested that they open an investigation into Planned Parenthood’s abortion and organ harvesting practices. So far, 12 states have already launched investigations including South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Massachusetts, KansasMissouri, Arizona, Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, Texas and Louisiana.

The state investigations are a response to horrifying footage of Planned Parenthood executives negotiating the sale of aborted babies, admitting to using altered abortion procedures to obtain salable body parts and casually discussing “less crunchy” methods for procuring fetal “tissue.”

The Center for Medical released a fifth video today showing the Director of Research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, Melissa Farrell, bragging about the Texas Planned Parenthood branch’s long history with fetal tissue sales, including its ability to deliver fully intact aborted babies.

Last month, the Kentucky Cabinet for Health & Family Services said they gave over $330,000 in taxpayer funding through local health departments to “Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky.” Unfortunately, it is unlikely that Gov. Beshear and Attorney General Conway will grant the legislators request because they are both pro-abortion.

As LifeNews previously reported, Steve Beshear compared pro-life activists to Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh in 1996. The Lexington Herald-Leader reported, “Asked why he lumped abortion opponents and accused terrorists into the same group, Beshear said, “There’s lots of different types of extremism in our country, and we ought to be denouncing all types of extremism.” He added that he fully supports Roe vs. Wade.

Here’s more on the letter to Gov. Beshear and AG Conway:

Except in emergency situations, only the Kentucky General Assembly has the constitutional authority to direct where funds, collected by the Kentucky Treasurer, will be appropriated.

Given the shocking and undeniable revelations about the marketing of organs and body parts from aborted babies, we are appalled to now learn that taxpayer dollars actually flow through Kentucky State Government into the coffers of this organization.

With unlimited access to tax payer funded women’s health care services guaranteed by Medicaid and Kynect, there is absolutely no reasonable justification or purpose for funneling taxpayer dollars directly or indirectly to Planned Parenthood.

Recent highly-publicized videos have, in astounding detail, demonstrated the appalling and cold-hearted willingness of top employees of Planned Parenthood to violate federal law and human conscience by profiteering from the flesh and organs of aborted babies. Kentuckians will not tolerate the distribution of their tax dollars to this organization, and call upon the Governor and Attorney General to immediately and forever terminate all funding to Planned Parenthood.
