In China, an 18-year-old girl is facing murder charges after strangling her newborn son, placing him in a plastic bag and throwing him out a hotel window.

The Daily Mail reports that the teen, Li Hui, was 17 when she committed the crime and was initially planning to have an abortion. In fact, she even asked her ex-boyfriend for money to get the abortion but later used the funds on partying and drinking. She said, “I just thought if I don’t think about the child, the problem will go away because there is always a solution at the end.”

Apparently she gave birth to the little boy in a hotel bathroom and later killed him after taking a shower. Unbelievably, the girl went out with friends later that evening for dinner. On July 9th, she told a judge, “I did not know how to handle the situation.”

The court alleges that Hui suffers from severe depression and became suicidal after killing her baby. Additionally, the teen told the court that her traumatic childhood is why she murdered her child. Hui said she was abandoned by her biological parents at birth and was later placed with mentally disabled adoptive parents.

Now Hui is awaiting sentencing. Although this case is incredibly disturbing, it is not surprising considering China’s lack of support for pregnant women. As LifeNews previously reported, last September was the 34th anniversary of China’s brutal one-child policy, which has resulted in over 400 million abortions and 37 million sex-selection abortions. The policy has also resulted in infanticide cases like this one, late-term abortions, forced abortions and forced sterilization.

Here’s more:

The teen mum was afraid to tell her parents and decided to ask the father of the child for the abortion money. Her ex borrowed 3,000 Yuan (£300) from his father, which Li then spent on partying and drinking.

Li recalled: “I just thought if I don’t think about the child, the problem will go away because there is always a solution at the end.’ She met her next boyfriend, Lin Gang, several months later, when she was already seven to eight months pregnant. Lin asked whether she was pregnant and Li reportedly lied and claimed that it was caused by a “tumour” and blamed it on her physique.

Lin never doubted his girlfriend.

The young couple were staying in a hotel one evening in October 2014 when Li Hui was woken up by stomach pains. Eventually, she gave birth to her baby boy while in the toilet.

Li said she fainted during labour and when she woke up, she could see blood all over the floor and the baby crying. She went for a shower and stood by the baby for twenty minutes trying to figure out what to do

Then Li did the unthinkable. She strangled the baby, put him in a plastic carrier bag and tossed him out the window. A couple found the infant in the nearby construction site not long after, but the baby passed away in hospital. When Lin came back in the afternoon, Li remained quiet about the incident. They even went out with friends for dinner later that evening.
