Cecile Richards on Planned Parenthood’s Abortion Customers: “Like a Big Alumni Association”

In an interview with Fast Company, the president of Planned Parenthood, Cecile Richards, said that their customers are like a huge alumni association. Fast Company is a business magazine that reports on how certain companies are so successful at what they do.

Richards said, “Four years ago, when the new Congress came in, they took a whack at Planned Parenthood. [They] wanted to basically eliminate the ability of millions of women to come to Planned Parenthood health centers for preventative care. It wasn’t that it rocked the organization, but for our patients . . . many of these women, we’re the only health care provider they have. But we are good at taking lemons and making lemonade—Dawn Laguens, who runs our Washington operation, says we’re like a permanent lemonade stand. Patients, former patients, current patients came out of the woodwork [to offer their support]. It was like this enormous alumni association of Planned Parenthood. Oh, my God, it was great.”

Then she explains that Planned Parenthood has more support than ever and bragged about all the patients they’ve seen their inception. However, Richards didn’t mention all the lawsuits against their organization for botched abortions or covering up Medicaid fraud. She also didn’t mention all the women who’ve left their facilities heartbroken because of their abortions. For example, Hannah Rose Allen spoke out against the abortion giant in 2013 after her own abortion at one of their “healthcare facilities.”

She explained her experience like this: “The counselor at Planned Parenthood had told me that some initial sadness after my abortion would be normal, but after a couple days, if I was still feeling depressed, that wouldn’t be normal, and I should seek help. How wrong she was. Much of those days before and after my abortion are a blur of heartbreak and tears. Sleepless nights were spent, with agony at the depths of my heart and soul, rattling me to the core. There was nothing “wrong” with me for feeling that way.

Trying to forget what I had done, over the next few months, I sought comfort for my wounded, aching heart through partying, drinking, and living promiscuously. I was digging myself deeper and deeper into a pit of destruction and despair.”

Miraculously, God has healed Hannah but Planned Parenthood wasn’t a positive force in her life; rather, they brought destruction by lying to her and killing her baby. Unfortunately, Planned Parenthood has become a “fast company” by lying to women just like her, hurting minor girls and committing Medicaid fraud.

As LifeNews previously reported, in 2013, Planned Parenthood’s Chicago affiliate was sued when a woman named Tonya Reeves died from a 2nd trimester abortion. After the tragedy, Dorsey Johns, Reaves’ mother, told a local CBS television station that Planned Parenthood staff “carelessly performed” the elective abortion and “failed to properly monitor and assess her daughter’s condition after the procedure, according to the suit filed in Cook County Circuit Court.”

As CBS indicates, “The suit further claims the clinic did not do enough to stop Reaves’ bleeding, and that staff members failed to adequately warn an on-call doctor about the potentially life-threatening condition.” As a result, the abortion giant had to pay a $2 million settlement to the family because of their part in her death. It is likely Reaves would have survived if she would have received immediate emergency care and if Planned Parenthood had shared medical information with the hospital related to her incomplete abortion and uterine perforation.

Additionally, Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast had to pay the state of Texas $4.3 million for fraudulently overbilling the taxpayer funded Medicaid program. And in Colorado, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains failed to inquire about or report the suspected sexual abuse of a 13-year-old child by her stepfather. They abortion giant performed the abortion and sent the girl right back to her abuser.
