In a tragic case in California, a missing woman who was 9-months pregnant has been found dead in her car, and her unborn child is dead as well.

Aubrey Andrews vanished on December 6 and officials say they found her in her vehicle in a Wal-Mart parking lot on Monday. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office listed the baby’s death as the same time the mother’s, reports CBS Sacramento. The coroner’s office didn’t release a cause of death, but police have previously said there were no obvious signs of foul play, reports the station.

Andrews’ husband told CBS Sacramento on Sunday that he knew his wife was upset and leaving the house for a bit but said he didn’t expect her to be gone for an extended period of time. He said Andrews left with nothing but the clothes on her back — even leaving behind her purse and wallet.

Here’s more on this tragedy in California:

The Sacramento County Coroner’s confirmed the 20-year-old’s identity Wednesday. It did not reveal her cause of death, FOX 40 reported, but previously, police said they did not suspect foul play in the disappearance.

Andrews’ baby died, too, her family said.

“This is the worst outcome imaginable and a tragic loss for our entire family,” her family said in a statement. “We request privacy to mourn the loss of Aubrey and the baby.”

Andrews was last seen on Dec. 6. She was supposed to be on bed rest, but left the house in her 2012 Toyota Prius to visit a friend, her husband Edward Andrews said.

A day after the disappearance, her purse and several notebooks with her handwriting mysteriously appeared on the family home’s doorstep.
