In the United States, November is National Adoption Month and it’s a time to reflect on the life-saving work of adoption. From infant and foster-care adoption to international adoption, everyday children are rescued from abortion, abuse and lives of suffering because they were placed with a forever family.

chelseapattersonNow a new video from Concerned Women of America demonstrates why adoption is part and parcel to the pro-life cause. Take a few minutes to watch this video and learn how adoption saves lives from abortion.

Chelsea Patterson is the Young Women for America Coordinator for Concerned Women for America. This is Chelsea’s story:

“I want to tell you a story about a young, unwed girl, much like the girls that Planned Parenthood seeks out and provides “services” to, every single day.

Roxana was 19 when she found out she was pregnant. She had no parents to walk with her through the pregnancy, her boyfriend deserted her, and she had little money. One can only imagine what Roxana was going through: little money, little support, and a baby on the way.

chelseapatterson2The country where Roxana lived was poverty-stricken and did not promote healthy and thriving families. Roxana was face with some incredibly difficult decisions that will have life-long consequences.

The girls who walk through the doors of Planned Parenthood are faced with the same decisions as Roxana.

Roxana is my Romanian birth mom. She chose to give me the best give I can imagine: my adoption.

I am eternally grateful for the sweet privilege of adoption and being intentionally chosen and loved by a family from North Carolina.

During National Adoption Month, if you are facing an unexpected pregnancy, I highly encourage you to choose adoption, instead of abortion.

Adoption saves lives. It saved mine.”
