Since Her Last Election in 2008, Mary Landrieu Hasn’t Cast a Single Pro-Life Vote

Louisiana is as deeply pro-life as any state in the nation. In fact, when Louisiana passed the bill to protect unborn babies capable of feeling pain from abortion – the 20-week abortion ban – the bill passed unanimously in both houses.

Against that backdrop, Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) is trying to retain her seat for a 4th term. To win in pro-life Louisiana, Landrieu and her handlers have fashioned an image of her as some kind of “moderate” on abortion.

But since her last election in 2008, Landrieu has not cast a single pro-life vote – in that time, she has a 100% pro-abortion voting record! Her main opponent, on the other hand, U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), has a 100% career pro-life voting record since he was first elected to Congress in 2008.

marylandrieu2This summer, Senator Landrieu went so far as to say that the federal version of the law Louisiana passed unanimously – the law protecting unborn babies in the 5th month of pregnancy and later – is a “shame.” In truth, the truly shameful thing is that Sen. Landrieu refuses to protect these vulnerable babies who can feel pain.

Seeing the opportunity to elect a proven pro-life senator in this deeply pro-life state, the National Right to Life Victory Fund has been working very hard there to let the people know where Landrieu really stands and not let her get away with past vague statements that make her look like a “moderate.”

Our work has made a big impact! From mass mailings to billboards that decry Landrieu’s recent 100% pro-abortion record, from doorknocking to Victory Fund radio ads, the NRL Victory Fund has one of the most complete campaigns here of all the Senate battleground states. And it’s showing in the polls, as more and more Louisiana voters are discovering how pro-abortion Landrieu really is, and pulling their support from her.

But even with the massive amount of work we’ve done here and in other key Senate races, we’re not done yet.

Every single vote counts! Your support now can help us contact every possible pro-lifer to make sure they understand what the stakes are for unborn babies.

What we do now to get out the vote will determine who – pro-life or pro-abortion forces – control the U.S. Senate for the next two years!
