Popular actor and celebrity Mario Lopez is a Christian man who loves his family, but he went down a very rough road in life to get there. Now, Lopez has written a memoir titled “Just Between Us” that talks about those darker times — including an abortion.

mariolopez“I turned 40, and that’s an important age for a man, and I think when you hit 40 it’s time to sort of pause and reflect on how you got there and to help make a mature plan for the future and I [thought] what better than write it down,” Lopez says about why he is releasing the book.

“I feel like you need to be completely honest, and unfiltered and put it all out there, and I did,” Lopez said. “Everything from my romantic life, my love life to my professional life, where I come from, being a child of immigrants, being born and raised in Chula Vista.”

“I started having sex so young; the day before my 13th birthday,” he said. “Now that I’m a Dad, I look back and I think, ‘Oh my God!’ But you’ve got to understand, when you’re growing up in the hood, everybody grows up fast.”

In his book, Lopez talks about his obsession with sex as a teenager and how he eventually got a young girl pregnant. He was 15 at the time and planned on getting a full-time job to support her and his baby but she eventually had an abortion.

“I got inebriated and a little too friendly with a young lady,” Lopez wrote in the book. “When it was time to return home, lighting hit me with the truth: I wasn’t in love. But I walked down the aisle.”

Mario Lopez not only lost his virginity at 12, but an abortion saved him from becoming a teen dad before joining the cast of Saved by the Bell.

The child star admits in a new memoir titled “Just Between Us” that his escapades started the day before his 13th birthday and got serious fast while growing up in California.

“I started having sex so young,” Lopez told People Magazine. “Now that I’m a dad, I look back and think, ‘Oh my God!’ But you’ve got to understand, when you’re growing up in the hood, everybody grows up fast.”

The 40-year-old father of two children said sex was always his “drug of choice,” but that addiction almost produced a child after he got a girl pregnant as a teenager.

The girl chose to end the pregnancy, but that child would have been 25 years old by now, Lopez explained to the magazine.
