New Zealand Creates Website Targeting Pro-Life Doctors Who Won’t Refer for Abortions

ALRANZ is dishonest and hypocritical in setting up a website to list doctors who are known to oppose the killing of innocent unborn children and who are not prepared to prescribe contraception. The list while intended to shame doctors is in effect, a ‘roll of honour’ for our medical practitioners and will assist citizens who want a medical practitioner who is protective of women and is opposed to the killing of the unborn who are the weakest and most defenceless members of our human family.

Right to Life warmly commends those doctors who uphold the sanctity of life of every human being from conception to natural death. These doctors recognise that the murder of the unborn is not a health service and that the contraceptive pill is in fact  an abortifacient that has a tertiary action of destroying the human embryo before implantation.

newzealandRight to Life is concerned that ALRANZ is continuing to attack the right of doctors to practice medicine in accordance with an informed conscience. The health and wellbeing of the community is totally dependent on doctors being permitted to uphold the sanctity of life ethic and to respect the dignity of every individual. Right to Life calls upon the community to strongly resist the increasing efforts of the vocal minority who are promoting  a culture of death.   The weakest and most defenceless members of the human family are being  destroyed and now the lawful right of doctors to act in accordance with their conscience is being attacked. A doctors right to exercise his conscience in practising medicine is enshrined in law, we remove this protection at our peril.

Right to Life is concerned that ALRANZ continues to seek to pervert the meaning of the term reproductive health services. The community should be well aware that attempts by the international abortion movement to have  United Nations Conventions recognise the killing of the unborn as an integral part of reproductive health services, have been consistently rejected.

ALRANZ is dishonest in stating on its new website, “My Decision” that these providers are reported to have refused or resisted providing reproductive health care services to submitters, or that they have publicly supported such action. Reproductive health care is a human right and the most important health care that a pregnant woman can receive from her doctor is loving care for her and her baby during pregnancy, culminating in a successful and happy birth. ALRANZ is defaming these good doctors by inferring that they will not provide proper care for mothers and their children in the womb.

It is understandable that ALRANZ is concerned that they are losing the battle to coerce the medical profession to support the murder of the unborn. There are more than 10,000 registered medical practitioners in New Zealand. The fast majority commendably want nothing to do with authorising the killing of our unborn or actually taking on the odious role of the abortionist. This is reflected in the declining number of certifying consultants appointed by the Abortion Supervisory Committee to ‘service’  the abortion industry. In 2013 there were only 166 prepared to take on this objectionable role. Right to Life looks forward to the day when there will be no doctors prepared to be involved in the evil that is abortion.
