Abortion clinics may be closing down around the state of Texas thanks to a pro-life law banning abortions on pain-capable babies after 20 weeks of pregnancy and a requirement that abortion practitioners have admitting privileges. But that hasn’t stopped the Planned Parenthood abortion corporation with moving forward with attempting to build a $5 million abortion clinic in San Antonio.

Rita Diller of Stop Planned Parenthood has more on what’s going on in central Texas:

plannedparenthood75Planned Parenthood says it has broken ground on a new five million dollar ambulatory surgical center in San Antonio. Though ground has been broken, the location of the facility still has not been disclosed. Operating in stealth mode, Planned Parenthood will attempt to get its contractors onto the site with no interruption from those who oppose the building of a child-killing facility in their community.

STOPP national director Rita Diller met with San Antonio leaders from a panoply of pro-woman, pro-family, pro-life groups last week to begin formation of a coalition that intends to erect a solid wall of opposition against the building of the facility, while educating the community about Planned Parenthood’s murderous, racist agenda in San Antonio. The goal is to get Planned Parenthood out of San Antonio.

Among those working with the diverse coalition is Bishop Emeritus John W. Yanta. Bishop Yanta led the charge against Planned Parenthood in the Amarillo area that ended in the closure of 17 Planned Parenthood facilities and the disaffiliation of the remaining two. Diller worked alongside Bishop Yanta in that endeavor as the Respect Life Director for the diocese during Yanta’s tenure there.

Early organization is key to stopping Planned Parenthood’s expansion. If you are aware of a proposed Planned Parenthood facility in your community, or if you feel that you will never be able to eliminate the abortion giant’s presence in your hometown, we would love to help you form a coalition and provide statistics and proven successful strategies in eliminating Planned Parenthood’s toxic presence in your community. National Right to Life’s Randy O”Bannon provided Life News with additional details on the abortion clinic earlier this year.

Perhaps no one complained as loudly as Planned Parenthood when Texas passed laws requiring that abortion clinics meet minimal safety standards last year or promised such doom and gloom for the industry.

But now, instead of folding their tents, they’re announcing plans to open a new $5 million “full scale” abortion clinic in San Antonio. And this one, they assure people, will be able to meet those new ambulatory surgical center standards. (Meanwhile pro-abortionists are fighting the law in court.)

No date or location has been given for the opening, but Planned Parenthood South Texas (PPST) President and CEO Jeffrey Hons assured guests attending a fundraiser for the affiliate that the clinic would meet the new state ambulatory surgical standards.

There is currently one Planned Parenthood clinic in the area offering abortions, but it is unclear whether that one will remain open once the new center is built.

As the only Planned Parenthood facility in San Antonio that is also a surgical center, PPST officials clearly hope that they will be able to draw in customers from the surrounding area. “For those women who will have to scrape together the money for the bus ride from the Rio Grande Valley or Odessa or San Angel,” Hons told the fundraiser, “we will be there for her.”

PPST has already raised $3.5 million towards the new clinic.
