The 44th annual National Right to Life Convention kicks off this Thursday in Louisville, Kentucky. The annual gathering of the pro-life grassroots is an energizing three days packed with dynamic speakers, compelling workshops and dozens of exhibits.

Thursday opens with an all-star panel discussing “The REAL War on Women” and will feature National Review Online editor Kathryn Jean Lopez, author Dr. Jean Garton and EWTN Radio/TV host Joy Pinto. Abortion advocates and their media allies have worked overtime to characterize even the most basic protections for unborn children and their mothers as draconian measures part of a grand scale “war on women.” The panel will dispute their claims and argue that the pro-life movement stands for both mother and child.

prolifeimage104Thursday continues with O. Carter Snead, J.D., professor of law and director of the Center for Ethics and Culture at the University of Notre Dame, who will keynote a general session on the lessons of unborn pain and the duty to protect unborn children. Dr. Angela Lanfranchi, a breast cancer surgeon, will address the link between breast cancer and abortion in an eye-opening evening general session.

Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and a pastoral associate for Priests for Life, will speak at the Friday morning prayer breakfast. She will be joined by EWTN’s Jim Pinto. Friday morning’s general session features author, lawyer and bioethicist Wesley J. Smith, J.D., who highlight bioethics community’s “war on humans.”

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell will address the convention during a Saturday morning session focused on winning in the 2014 elections. Throughout his time in public service, Senator McConnell has championed numerous pro-life initiatives, including the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, and fought against the pro-abortion Obama healthcare law. Kentucky Congressmen Andy Barr and Brett Guthrie will also address the convention.

Throughout the convention, workshops will explore dozens of pro-life topics, including lobbying, communications, grassroots organizing, fundraising, social media, assisted suicide, stem cell research, healthcare rationing, post-abortion syndrome, the fight for life at the United Nations, polling, the Gosnell case, adoption, Planned Parenthood and the IRS.

The convention closes with a Saturday night banquet featuring keynote speaker Mark Larson, syndicated radio host. Larson, a close friend to the right-to-life movement, will be a delight to attendees with his incomparable sense of humor and eloquent commentary on the fight for life.

Every year, this epic educational event fires up the pro-life grassroots and leaves attendees with the tools and knowledge to even more effectively stand for life. If unable to attend this year in Louisville, join National Right to Life for next year’s convention in New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 9-11.
