The pro-life movement has been outraged over the last few days about what has happened to a pregnant 15-year-old girl in Buffalo, New York, who was reportedly held against her will in a room in an abortion clinic.

The initial reports from pro-life activist Abby Johnson indicate the young girl’s mother did not want her to have an abortion and that the unnamed teenager was facing pressure from her her boyfriend to take the life of her unborn baby at the Buffalo-based abortion facility.

sadwoman11Her mother does not want her to have an abortion, but is not mentally stable. Her boyfriend is really pushing her to abort,” Johnson wrote in a Facebook post. “As a 15 year old girl, she is very swayed by the opinions of her boyfriend…who does not want her to have anything to do with the pregnancy center in her area.”

They would not allow her to leave the room she was in and locked the door. Her mom started freaking out in the waiting room demanding to see her daughter. At that point, her mother was removed from the facility,” Johnson continued. “It was at this point that she started texting me and the prolifer she has been working with. Both of us called the police and they arrived shortly. Cheryl, the local (and amazing) prolifer drove to the clinic and the young girl was released in her custody for the weekend.”

Now, a Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper has a report about another case of a teenage girl pressured to have an abortion.

As the newspaper reports:

A pregnant 15-year-old battled with her mother about getting an abortion Friday, forcing police to get involved, Bedford authorities said.

The mother tried to make the girl end the pregnancy, but the teenager wanted to keep the baby, according to police reports. The family fought inside a Planned Parenthood lobby, and officers received a call at 3:50 p.m. about a domestic violence altercation.

No charges have been filed, and the department has passed the case on to the prosecutor’s office for review, police said.

LifeNews contacted the police department and left a message with a public information official who has not yet responded with additional details.

Johnson, in a Facebook comment late Monday updating about the Buffalo case, said, “there is nothing I can report at this time except that she is safe and her baby is healthy.”

Katie McCann, the public relations manager for Ohio Right to Life, had no additional details beyond the Cleveland newspaper report and told LifeNews, based on that report about the second case, “It appears that the mother in the Cleveland altercation was the one attempting to force an abortion on her teen daughter.”

McCann said the incidents raise the specter of forced abortions, and how abortion activists and the abortion industry essentially ignores this problem.

“Pro-choice advocates might argue that neither of these cases resembles the “right to choose” as each involves the use of force and coercion from the mother and the abortion clinic,” she said. “But what is abortion except the use of force against an innocent child? The abortion industry thrives on force and violence. Even if the teen in either case was there of her own accord, the reality of the pregnancy is still the same: It contains a living child with his own unique DNA and body. The result of the abortion is still the same: an aborted child.”

“To be consistently pro-life means opposing violence and aggression in all of its forms. But to be consistently pro-choice means to accept force and aggression against an innocent human being,” the pro-life advocate continued. “If anything, the pro-life community can be heartened that these young girls appear to have resisted the force and coercion to have abortions, as well as the force of abortion itself.”

Women frequently report coercion from partners or parents and LifeNews has reported numerous times over the years about parents who attempt to make their teenage daughters have an abortion. And if abortion facility officials did lock this young girl in a room and attempted to prevent her from leaving, criminal charges should be brought.
