You Won’t Believe This Mom’s Incredible Joy as She Holds her Premature Baby for the First Time

That’s what makes this mother’s joy about holding her premature baby for the first time so special. This beautiful tiny baby could have otherwise become an abortion statistic, but tiny Emily was given a chance at life — and these pictures show she has a loving mother ready to help her experience everything the world has to offer!

The infant – born at 24 weeks – is believed to be the country’s youngest surviving birth.

Her mother, Claire, 34, said being able to hold for daughter for the first time on Mother’s Day was ‘the best moment of my life’.

emilycressey2Emily weighed 535g (1lb 3oz) when she was born on February 27 and could legally have been aborted.

But she is thriving at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and now weighs 736g (1lb 10oz).

The planned ten-minute cuddle was stretched to 20 minutes because Emily responded so well to her mother’s touch, maintaining an even heart rate and temperature.
