By now most people have seen the pictures of thousands of vehicles abandoned on roadways in Atlanta, which was struck by a snowstorm that has crippled the highways and roads across this large southern city.

graceWhile people slept in drug stores and walked miles to get to homes and schools, one woman was having a baby. Here’s more about Grace’s story as CBS Local reports:

A baby was born on the side of the interstate while stuck in traffic Tuesday evening.

The baby girl was delivered by her father and a police officer around 5:25 p.m. on I-285 near Riverside Drive in Sandy Springs.

The delivery was done in the parent’s car that was stranded because of snow and ice.

Emergency personnel arrived after the baby was delivered and the mother and baby were taken to an area hospital.

The baby was born without complications.
