Just One Pro-Life Democrat Addresses Congress: “The First Human Right is the Right to Life”

Dan Lipinski is a loner. No, it doesn’t mean he prefers to be alone. But he is a lone voice — a pro-life Democrat in a party ruled by abortion activists:

Last week, Lipinski was the only pro-life Democrat to address Congress during a special session that saw dozens of pro-life members speak out against abortion in advance of the 41st anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision.

CT Dan_Lipinski_05.JPGRep. Daniel Lipinski of Illinois said Congress needs to stop funding the Planned Parenthood abortion business and should pay attention to the 600,000 pro-life people who would attend the March for Life this week.

“We will see hundreds of thousands of Americans come out here – so many young people coming out here – to show their support for life, and I want to thank them for taking the time, for making the effort to come out and speak for those who can’t speak for themselves,” Lipinski said. “Many people thought 41 years ago with Roe v. Wade that it was over, that the decision had been made and that there would be abortion-on-demand here in the United States forever … but there’s a vibrant pro-life movement still going on and I want to thank everyone who has been a part of that movement.”

Lipinski also addressed a local pro-life rally in his home state.

“We know today that … science is with us, the truth is with us,” Lipinski said. “The pro-life movement continues to build, continues to grow — you are all a part of that. It is not just being against abortion; it is about embracing life.”
