Clear Channel Caves, Agrees to Run Ads for Abortion Business

For several months Clear Channel radio refused paid ads from the new Southwind abortion clinic operating inside George Tiller’s former abortion clinic in Wichita. However, after news that Southwind was going to present them with a 68,000 signature petition, Clear Channel has caved, even though petition gatherers earlier admitted that the “vast majority” of signers are from outside Wichita.

In other words, East and West coast liberals insist it is Clear Channel’s obligation to help encourage Kansas women to get abortions!

Kansans for Life has already presented the Wichita City Council with a petition urging rezoning of Southwind, containing over 14,000 signatures of people who actually live INSIDE the Wichita area!

We now ask pro-life citizens across Kansas and the U.S. to sign this NEW petition asking Clear Channel to stand by their original position–a petition which we plan to present to them on All Souls Day, November 1. Click HERE to sign the petition.

“If they want to play the national petition game, I dare say we could outnumber them ten or a hundred to one like we have every January in D.C. and all the state capitols for 40 years” stated KFL Executive Director Mary Kay Culp.

The director of the ‘gender equality’ group that helped Southwind in their national petition drive had the audacity to claim that they “are concerned about the precedent that could be set if it is allowed to stand — where a private company can decide whether or not local women get information about how to access health care.”

Culp said, “First, a private company certainly enjoys that right. Second, I can safely say that Clear Channel did not originally object to the ads because they promoted ‘health care’. Abortion is not health care. Abortion is the killing of an unborn human child for money–Southwind’s specialty–again overseen by George Tiller’s former employee who helped that clinic as it performed 3,000 late-term abortions here the first ten years of this century!”

Again, today Kansans for Life is announcing our own petition to counter the Southwind petition. Please click, sign and forward to everyone you know!

Additionally, we encourage you to call Clear Channel Radio at: 316-494-6600, and speak with operations manager, Tony Matteo. Be sure to introduce yourself and let him know if you are calling from Kansas. Express your disappointment that they have decided to run the abortion clinic advertisements, and ask him to reconsider that decision. Please be courteous and polite. Thank you for taking action to save the lives of future Kansas babies!
