Former president George H.W. Bush shaved his head to show support for the son of one of his Secret Service security detail who was diagnosed with Leukemia.

“Our little guy received some high-powered support this week when President George Bush 41 volunteered to shave his head to show his support for Patrick and Patrick’s Pals,” the Patrick’s Pals website said.

“Members of his Secret Service detail have also been shaving their heads this week in solidarity,” it added.

Jim McGrath, a spokesman for Bush, who was a pro-life president, tweeted a picture of the former president with the child. Bush’s daughter Robin died of leukemia at age three, so the subject is close to his heart.
