Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards and her pro-abortion friends took to Capitol Hill today to rally against a Congressional bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota and Rep Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut joined the nation’s biggest abortion business to rally for keeping abortions legal right up to the day of birth.

Planned Parenthood activists held signs about protecting women’s health, yet they ignored how, on Tuesday, a woman undergoing an abortion at a notorious late-term abortion facility in Germantown, Md., was taken to the hospital by emergency ambulance.

Leaders with Susan B. Anthony List slammed the pro-abortion rally and the abortion lobby for turning their backs on numerous instances of abortion industry abuse, neglect, and brutality occurring nationwide.

“This morning, Cecile Richards and other abortion elites will rally for their so-called ‘right’ to an abortion even after 20 weeks, when the baby is fully formed and can feel pain. Meanwhile, a few miles away Maryland citizens will once again seek accountability and answers from a late-term abortionist, whose actions this year have already led to the death of one woman and an untold number of children late in pregnancy,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Planned Parenthood’s rally is all about politics – but what’s happening in Germantown is the reality of this issue.”

Dannenfelser told LifeNews: “Similarly in Texas, ‘pro-choice’ activists have shouted and jeered for abortion, all the while ignoring the heartbreaking, graphic evidence of brutality and potential infanticide committed by Houston abortionist Douglas Karpen. There has been no shortage of horror stories and pain nationwide resulting from abortion industry negligence and brutality toward these children, yet the ‘pro-choice’ movement does nothing. Women and children deserve better.”

On February 7, a young woman died from complications after she underwent a 33-week abortion and abortion practitioner Leroy Carhart left town and was unavailable to provide emergency assistance to her or her family. He remains under investigation by the medical board in relation to that incident. In the latest incident he got into the ambulance and went with the patient to the hospital even though he has no hospital privileges anywhere, and hasn’t since 1987.

In May, former employees of abortionist Douglas Karpen of Houston, Texas, brought forward photographic evidence of horrific late-term abortions and potential infanticide. He is currently under investigation by the Harris County District Attorney’s office.
