There are many reasons to be excited about the upcoming National Right to Life Convention. (See www.NRLConvention.com for details how to register.)

In its 43 years, the Convention is taking place for the first time in Dallas, Texas. And we also have an amazing lineup of speakers. I would like to outline a few here:

First, Ryan Bomberger, the Emmy Award-winning Creative Professional who founded The Radiance Foundation  In a workshop entitled “The Social Injustice of Abortion,” he will discuss how the right-to-life cause is the human rights issue of our day and how to connect it with the rich history of civil rights in America.

This year we will also be honored to have Mollie Ziegler Hemingway. Mrs. Hemingway is senior writer at GetReligion.org and an editor at Ricochet.com. Together, she and National Right to Life President Carol Tobias will address the media cover-up of the gruesome Kermit Gosnell murder trial in a workshop titled “They Really Don’t Care.” They will also expose the myth that abortion advocates perpetuate that says to be pro-woman one must be pro-abortion.

Another first time speaker (but someone who has attended previous Conventions) is Robert Gordon, senior advisor for strategic outreach at The Heritage Foundation. His workshop, “People as the First Principle: Challenging the Foundations of the Green Establishment,” will explore some of the principles of the modern environmental movement which devalues human life and sees it as a blight on nature.

Finally, members of the American Victims of Abortion will present a workshop titled: “Cultural Changes in the Post-Abortion Healing Landscape.” Speakers on this panel will include Olivia Gans (President of American Victims of Abortion), Sr.Patricia Barnette, Rachel Benda, and Linda Shrewsbury.

This workshop will highlight the history of the post-abortion experience in our culture. There will be in depth discussion of the impact of the post-abortion message as it relates to the larger Pro-Life debate in society as a whole.
