A man has been charged with stalking his pregnant ex-partner and threatening to kill her and the baby.

Authorities say 46 year old True Xiong found out that the woman was pregnant in July. He insisted she undergo an abortion, and she refused.

In the following months, Xiong continued to threaten and stalk the woman. He called her two or three times a day, harassing her with threats and commands to abort. Xiong is married to another woman, and this may relate to his desire to see the child killed.

As the months went by, Xiong escalated his campaign of harassment and fear. He began threatening his former partner in person, claiming he would kill her and the baby.  Her older children saw him lying in wait for her in a parking lot, presumably hoping to accost her when she went to her car.

As the woman’s due date approached, she became more and more afraid that Xiong would make good on his threats. Police intervened, and arrested Xiong.

He is being charged with stalking and “threatening to injure or accuse of a crime.” Both these charges are offenses under domestic violence. Xiong is being held on $5,000 bail. If released on bond, he is forbidden from contacting or going near the woman, her children, or the hospital where she is going to give birth.
