Catholics across the country will be united in prayer Dec. 8-9 during the 23rd annual National Night of Prayer of Life.
Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, is urging all parish priests and pro-life leaders to join in this vital effort.
“Prayer is the cornerstone of the pro-life movement,” Father Pavone said. “And parishes should be the hub of activity. Combine the two and you have a great formula for victory.”
The National Night of Prayer for Life is a prayer service that takes place from 9 p.m. Dec. 8 until 1 a.m. Dec. 9, and consists of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the Rosary, prayer to St. Michael, silent prayer and hymns. It is timed to join the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and the Feast of St. Juan Diego, to whom Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Unborn, appeared in 1531.
“I firmly believe, along with many faithful Americans, that it is time to call upon the Blessed Mother to save our beloved country from the ravages of the culture of death. If we repent, pray the Holy Rosary, and turn to our Lord, Our Lady promises to bring a new dawn to America,” said Michael Lobasso of the National Night of Prayer for Life committee.
Event founder Ann Murphy said, “Our Lady is pleading with us to spend time in prayer with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.”
