Pro-Lifers, Don’t Despair the Election, God is in Control

I’m sure that most of you, as I am, are a little shell-shocked at the result of the election. I was one of those optimists who believed we could elect a pro-life president and maybe even put a pro-life majority in place in the Senate.

Things didn’t turn out as we wanted, but it wasn’t for lack of trying. Pro-lifers all over the country did everything possible, going above and beyond the almost-unimaginable, putting their hearts and souls into this campaign.

We will awaken each morning saddened at the future in store for our country; heart-broken at the thought of lost opportunities to save unborn children from abortion, and the elderly and disabled from rationing of medical care. Very few pro-lifers will be filled with regret, thinking they could have done more.

I have spent the last few hours asking, “Why, Lord? We want to save your children. Why did this happen?” I was reminded of that familiar verse from Proverbs 3, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.”

You will have pro-lifers in your state who are discouraged and ready to give up. Encourage them and share with them your determination to keep fighting. We do not always understand why something happens, but we do know that we are in God’s hands.

We will not give up. God’s blessings to you all.
