Today, the Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) announced the launch of a $40,000 radio ad campaign in Nebraska to expose senate candidate Bob Kerrey’s extreme abortion.

The ads discuss his votes against the ban on late-term partial birth abortion. The ad will air on country, Christian, and oldies music stations in the Omaha and Lincoln media markets through Election Day.

“The last time Bob Kerrey was in the U.S. Senate, he voted against the ban on the gruesome practice of partial birth abortion five times,” said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “That’s extreme –and the people of Nebraska deserve to know the truth about Bob Kerrey’s record. According to recent Gallup polling in Nebraska and across the country, Americans are increasingly identifying themselves as ‘pro-life,’ so much so that Gallup called pro-life the ‘new normal.’ Bob Kerrey’s record flies in the face of this growing consensus.”

Dannenfelser continued: “Deb Fischer, on the other hand, has a consistent record of fighting for pro-life, pro-woman policies in the Nebraska state legislature – she is the type of leader Nebraska women and families deserve. We look forward to seeing her build the ranks of pro-life women in the U.S. Senate.”

A partial script of the ad follows:

“Recently we’ve lost a dear friend… Bob Kerrey moved back to Nebraska.

It sounds absolutely dreadful.

I mean, what on earth does Bob Kerrey have in common with them?

We loved it when Bob Kerrey voted five times to allow late-term partial birth abortion,

and Bob Kerrey voted against parental notification laws so children don’t have to tell their parent before getting an abortion.

Bravo Bob!

I think Bob Kerrey should be proud that his vote record got a failing grade from National Right to Life.

They say he voted against unborn life,

I say, you are marvelous!

So Bob, even if pro-life Nebraskans reject you, you will always have a home here in New York, darling.”
