Brad Pitt’s Mom: “Obama Supports Killing Unborn Babies”

Jane Pitt, the mother of actor Brad Pitt, is making waves after penning a letter to the editor for her local newspaper slamming Obama and urging fellow Christians to vote for Mitt Romney. In the letter published by the Springfield News-Leader, Pitt calls President Obama, “a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies.” She adds, “Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama.”

Those in the mainstream media and on the Left have panned the letter. Gawker writer Taylor Berman calls Jane Pitt a “loon.” He adds, “For those of us with family members prone to quasi-racist, half-coherent Thanksgiving dinner rants, it’s a relief to know the rich and famous sometimes go through the same thing.”

Jane Pitt stands right in line with the majority of Americans, despite attempts by abortion advocates to characterize her as an extremist. As a recent Gallup poll revealed, more Americans today identify as pro-life versus pro-choice. The same poll showed those identifying as pro-choice at an all-time low.

In January, Pitt said of his mother in a cover profile in The Hollywood Reporter, “She’s very, very loving, very open, genuine, and it’s hilarious because she always gets painted in the tabloids as a she-devil. There’s not an ounce of malice in her. She wants everyone to be happy.”

As one of President Obama’s most outspoken backers in Hollywood, actor Brad Pitt does not share his mother’s views. Pitt reaffirmed his support for President Obama earlier this year saying, “I’m an Obama supporter, no question.”

It is unfortunate that both Brad Pitt and his fiancée actress Angelina Jolie are not pro-life on abortion. The couple has six children, a large family especially by Hollywood standards. Three of the Jolie-Pitt children are biological while three were adopted. Both Pitt and Jolie have been adoption advocates for years, even in the face of criticism in Hollywood.

“I had a friend who had a big family when I was a kid. I just loved the chaos around the breakfast table and the fighting and the ribbing, and the mom making pancakes for everyone or the dad making pancakes,” Pitt told the Associated Press in an interview at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011.

Jane Pitt’s letter underscores the importance of every pro-life advocate taking action in the 2012 elections. After last week’s Supreme Court decision upholding the pro-abortion Obama healthcare law, this can’t be stated enough.

“All voters who care about the value and dignity of human life must do everything they can to elect Mitt Romney and a Congress who are committed to repeal of ObamaCare,” said National Right to Life President Carol Tobias. “If President Obama wins re-election, it will mean massive abortion subsidies and it will put the lives of millions at risk through systematic government-imposed rationing of lifesaving medical care.”
