You Can’t be Pro-Life and Not Vote for Mitt Romney

You can’t be pro-life and not vote for Mitt Romney.  This is a simple declarative statement with no “ifs” or “buts.”  It is what it is.

I understood and expected the loud and sometimes naïve rhetoric among conservatives during the GOP primary season, but the time for rancor, vitriol and empty rhetoric is over.   There is only one man who can beat Barrack Obama in November and that is Governor Mitt Romney.  If you dare think of yourself as a champion of the unborn, it isn’t only important that you bury whatever hatchet you may have had and support the presumptive GOP candidate; it is requirement for any pro-life American.

When I made this argument to a pro-lifer earlier this week, I was told that I was gullible for believing the conservative elite (whatever that means.)  The thing is that what I believe doesn’t matter, it’s what I know that makes me not only strongly support Governor Romney but also makes me want to win over and encourage anyone I can find to do the same.  What I know is that President Obama isn’t just the most pro-abortion president we’ve ever had, no, he is the infanticide president.

This is a man who believes that a baby girl who survives an abortion and is born alive should be put to death so that her mother’s reproductive rights are protected.  How can someone who believes in the sanctity of life belittle, deride and not support the only chance we have of removing him from office?  It’s sheer life-endangering folly.

The next president of the United States will also fill between two and four seats on the Supreme Court.  As a people who believe abortion is wrong, who do we think will fill those seats with strict-constructionist jurors who will interpret the Constitution and not reinvent and rewrite it? This is a no-brainer folks because we have seen with whom this president aligns himself, whom he appoints, and who his czars are.

How delusional must a pro-lifer be to think that keeping Obama in office for another sure to be apocalyptic four years is best? How can a pro-lifer wish for the same political outcome as every card-carrying member of NARAL and still think they are pro-life?

They can’t.

There are of course those who will claim to be more pro-life than I because they “stand for life” and will write-in a vote for their local Personhood representative because they can’t compromise their beliefs.  How incredibly maddening that they can be so cavalier with someone else’s life.

They will flood my e-mail with holier-than-though-I-speak-to-God tirades as they sit in trailers and basements broadcasting radio shows to their family about those aforementioned no-chance-in-hell third party candidates – and that’s maddening too.

But  bring it on because, quite frankly, I don’t remember seeing any of them next to me as I was being pepper-sprayed and dragged by my feet across parking lots in South Florida during the 1980s for peacefully sitting in front of abortion clinics.

CLICK LIKE IF YOU’RE PRO-LIFE!

If you want to call yourself prolife and have people believe that you actually are – then support the only pro-life candidate this November – Mitt Romney.  If you call yourself prolife and distort or ridicule the only chance we have of beating Obama, then know you’re playing straight into David Axelrod’s and Planned Parenthood’s plans and that most of us will question your being on our side or at best just think you’re stupid.

It is what it is.  Be a pro-life leader, or quietly get out of the way.
