There is no “War on Women” currently sponsored by pro-life advocates or the Republican Party, but top pro-abortion groups are organizing a “Unite Against the War on Women” rally this Saturday anyway.
The “Unite Women” website was launched to promote a “Unite Against the War on Women” rally, coming to cities across American this Saturday, April 28. A review of the web site for the rally finds organizers have little stated goal or purpose for the rally, other than to probably desperately respond to the Stand Up for Religious Freedom rallies pro-life advocates organized weeks ago.
That is something Stand Up for Religious Freedom rally leader Eric Scheidler finds “extremely encouraging.”
“It’ a good sign that our campaign to stop the HHS mandate is hitting home. It also reveals how, unlike our opponents, we have a clear, easily explained goal: to stop the HHS mandate,” he said.
How should we pro-lifers respond to the “United Women” rally?
“I don’t think it warrants any kind of pro-life counter-protest. That’s giving it too much credit,” he said. “Rather, I’m encouraging pro-lifers to go “under cover” and get some photos and video of the event. I’d love to hear the attendees explain what it is exactly they’re “uniting” against.”
Scheidler said he found it odd that the pro-abortion NOW group has on sale clothing for infants that encourages moms to consider victimizing them in abortions.
“What kind of person would dress an infant in an outfit that says “My mom had choices?” he asked. “Yes, that’s an actual baby outfit, on sale at the National Organization for Women’s “Unite Women” website. I think the “My mom had choices” baby outfit typifies the confused thinking behind the “Unite Women” protest. Having a baby advertise abortion? What are they thinking?”
Among the sponsors are the National Organization for Women, Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, and a group called “Rock the Slut Vote” — not to be confused with a group called “This Slut Votes,” which is also a sponsor.
John Jansen of the Pro-Life Action League finds it coincidental that the web site for the rally “informs us that the idea for the rallies originated February 19 — a mere nine days after the Pro-Life Action League and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society announced that the Nationwide Rally for Religious Freedom in opposition to the HHS Mandate would be held on March 23.”

He also finds it ironic that the rally web site has an image with the caption, “Teach Science.”
“This from the side of the abortion debate that repeatedly refuses to acknowledge the scientific fact that the life of a new human being begins at conception,” he says.
